krissyboy31 Posted 23 March, 2010 Share Posted 23 March, 2010 Turned into a top, top test match off-spinner. Yet again, took a wicket in the first over of a new spell. How many times has he done that?
chrisobee Posted 23 March, 2010 Share Posted 23 March, 2010 Not only his bowling but also scores very useful runs and can field. To think just a few years ago it was all about Monty Panesar but Swann has just continued to improve ( methinks Monty could learn plenty from him) and now must be one of the 1st names on the England team sheet, the ball to get rid of Jahurul Islam ( his 2nd wicket of the innings) was a corker! keithd Posted 23 March, 2010 Share Posted 23 March, 2010 i seem to recall watching him playing for Notts at the Rose Bowl few seasons ago, last game of the Sunday League/John Player League/Pro40 or whatever it was called in those days and goading him "you'll never play for England" after Udal had been picked to go to India. Of course he took a wicket soon after and give it a bit of "shush look at my name" etc to us, thought he was OK but fair play to him has continued to grow and grow as a player. Long may he continue to improve too. Need more of his ilk to give us options with bat and ball
