Video from phone to PC

I can transfer photos from my LG phone to computer and store them in "My Pictures" However when I try and

transfer a short video into "MY Videos" they won't play unless I leave the phone plugged in.

 

My wife sent me a very short video from her phone ( a Motorola ) and that downloaded perfectly.

 

In My Videos the one that works says 3GPP and has a Quicktime symbol but the ones from my phone

says AVI.

 

Any simple help would be most welcome thanks.

 

Sorry to be a nuisence but as it is 9.18 P.M. I am off to bed as I have to get up at 05.00 so will

be unable to respond for a few hours to any advice.
