Channon's Sideburns Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 Greetings... Dear Ticket Office, Please can you stop sending out tickets for games in see-through window envelopes. Surely a simple printed plain envelope is more secure. When my Wembley tickets arrived I thanked God that no 'tea leaf' working for Her Maj had opened it. Having said that, earlier this season two corporate tickets I ordered did go astray (thankfully replaced by your good staff). Come on guys, it ain't rocket science is it??? Cheers CS
saints_is_the_south Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 +1. Quite a few times this season I've had tickets delivered & the envelope has been tampered with. As you said it's pretty easy to tell from the windowed envelope that they are tickets.
The9 Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 How exactly are they supposed to address them then ? Separate Sticky label ? Adds a massive time overhead on the process to match the tickets to the envelope, and would probably double the time it takes to send them out. Besides, if someone at Royal Mail wants to nick them, they will find out what the new envelopes look like and target those instead.

A separate sticky label would take less time than the 'origami' some poor sod had to do for the Wembley tickets so the address details would show in the window of the envelope. Also....sending them out this way would save them more time and money on staff having to re-issue tickets to people who have had theirs nicked.

Rocker268 Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 What they could do is rather than have the address printed on a ticket they could use a blank strip of paper which I think would be much better, it would save on ink and they could use cheap recyclable paper instead of tickets
dune Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 Can you imagine how long it'd take to retrain the spoons how to put a sticky label on a letter. Let's not overload them, they're struggling enough as it is.
ericofarabia Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 Origami? Folding down a perforated edge? You have to be trained up to Black Belt standard in Origami to do that dont cha know
once_bitterne Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 DO send tickets for games at Wembley recorded delivery. (esp. when charging £3 per ticket handling fee) DON'T stamp 'Southampton Football Club' in red ink on the top of the envelope.
docker-p Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 The box office is doing a sterling job, and the service I've recieved has been spot on. Can't help thinking that doing everything on the phone/ online/by mail, rather than face to face creates more work and problems though.
Channon's Sideburns Posted 19 March, 2010 Author Posted 19 March, 2010 Origami? Folding down a perforated edge? Nah, for some reason the address bit was printed on an away ticket stub, but they had to do the folding stuff as I guess it was much smaller than the Wembley tickets.
LGTL Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 Sending them out recorded delivery would be a start....England away tickets are sent out this way, and that's a £3 booking/delivery fee too.
dan217 Posted 19 March, 2010 Posted 19 March, 2010 Our tickets came today with some the stubs on the end ripped off and sellotaped back on. There was a note to apologise and saying it had been cleared with Wembley but surely this shouldn't have even happened.
