I think this is the ****ty Oh When the saints song they are talking about

for those interested

I have an original vinyl version of 'Oh When The Saints' by The Beatles (with Tony Sheridan), their first EVER recording (in Hamburg). I would have lent them that if I'd known they were considering crap versions. Possibly worth more than the actual trophy!

Got to be "Saints are coming". It is the most relevant song to Saints coming out onto the pitch at wembley plus it will get the crowd and players pumped up for it. One vision has no relevance and OWTSGMI is fine to sing during the game but not to play when coming out on to the pitch.

I agree

Strange that I have no recall whatsoever of One Vision being played at the Dell between 1991 and 2001, even though it clearly happened a lot.

I suspect this may have been due to the time I used to get into the ground, or possibly the quality of the PA system. Or Pat from Poole's clapping.

Nope, pretty sure it was Chris Nicholl's team of the late 80's.

No, around turn of the 80's / 90's we came onto 'You ain't see nothin' yet'. Well, certainly in the Branfoot era.

'One Vision' is great but i'm sure we only started playing it as Sky were using it for that seasons (mid 90's) promo music on all the Premier League TV ads.

voted one vision because the other two are frankly embarrasing.

Surely they can't be more embarrasing than One Vision,as song which is not Saints related in any way.Apart from being a poor choice over a decade ago.

The Albion Band used be heard regularly at The Dell as well, perhaps we could find one of their recordings instead.

One Vision was presumably used because BSkyB used it to promote the Premier League in one of the first seasons of the Prem. Equally, "Ready to Go" by Republica, "The Time Is Now" by Moloko, "Are You Ready For Love" by Elton John and about 7 or 8 other songs are about as relevant.

The Saints Are Coming is a rubbish version, anything with a dance beat over OWTSGMI is rubbish, the oft-mentioned Darude's Sandstorm is our Prem relegation season music and given those awful choices, I suppose we should be glad that at least they didn't suggest Amarillo.

Wonder what song Carlise have choosen as their song?

seen on their website that they are handing out 20000 blue baloons to let off prior to kick off.

That will no doubt be eclipsed by a red and white blizzard, even f we take one each.

In 2003 I took someyellow and blue balloons, and was passing a few down to a couple of friends to the left of me.Suddenly thought, christ how many does he want, then realised they were being handed on all along the row...

On a personal level I've voted for 'One Vision', as it reminds me of my childhood in the Junior Saints section at The Dell and having to try and guess what the PA announcer was saying as half the time the sound cut out!

Has to be one vision for me for exactly the same reason. Great memories of standing on my seat in the family centre as soon as the song came on and looking across to my right as the team walked out.

Excellent news.

The prospect of listening to Freddie Aids singing prior to the game was too much to contemplate.

Now lets bombard the club with requests for The Skids version.

Hear, Hear - has to be the Skids Version!!!!!!!!!!!
