Rod Liddle on Lord HawHawhinney

Normally Rod Liddle is a c*ck, but he makes a few fair points in this piece.

Well you really can't fault much of that.

Item 5 looks like Liddle watched the situations at both Bompey and Saints and was frightened by the actions of LifellongCherrySaint(Skate). Also our very own social commentator, StuRomseyRabid, would agree with item 12!

Although I baulk at the suggestion that Saints fell foul of the FL because we were 'living the dream'!

While I agree with almost all of what he has written...

...it always annoys me when we're described as having 'ideas above our station', it smacks of arrogance that a journalist disregards 30 odd years of consistant top flight football and and a desire to get 'back there' as having unrealistic expectations.

I agree, I hardly think you could accuse us, or Crystal Palace for that matter of "ideas above our station". Leeds are the only ones I can think of, apart from the obvious of course, who tried to live the dream then it all went bust.

I assume he is one of those journos who think only the biggest names in football should be in the Premiership, in which case he must hate Hull, Wigan, Poopey and Stoke with a passion.

I think its a great shame Lord M wont be at Wembley to present the JPT cup - last time we went there we all got to boo Branfoot, it wont be the same without a hate figure to focus on ! :)
