Not one tiny part of me is racist, i simply believe that we in this country should put our own citizens first rather than people who have never contributed to the state. chrisobee Posted 27 March, 2010 Posted 27 March, 2010 I've spent 7yrs in recruitment and 3 years working in data admin. As for that reclaim form I sent over a week ago, still not received, and doubt they will. Problem there is that if it does not end up exactly on the right desk on the right section you've had it, the staff who process claims have no face to face contact with the public so generally can't be bothered. The only hope is if you see someone in the Jobcentre who phones up and is as bolshy as hell, then that might ( not guaranteed ) provoke some movement. Used to work for me though invariably my reputation for being a pain in the backside preceeded me!

Guessing I never got the jobs as neither company got back to me, I chased them up but kept being told someone would phone me. Thank you very much Manpower and Tesco. Still not getting job seekers allowance, sent the reclaim off 7 weeks ago but nothing's still been done about it, couldn't even get a £50 crisis loan ha ha ha. I'm pretty much expecting a letter soon from DWP/HMRC saying that I now owe so much in National Insurance, it just gets better and better.

If you've paid a pro-rata tax for part of the tax year yoB you MUST put in for a tax rebate. A couple of years back i changed jobs to a lower paid one and got a few hundred nicker for my troubles.

That is simply ridiculous, the only way to get anywhere with the bl**dy Jobcentre is just to complain to all and sundry including your MP. If he/she is like mine they soon get their asses into gear! As for the crisis loan it's rare they turn it down unless you tell them say it's for booze or cigarettes ! As for Manpower and other agencies I really wouldn't bother. That said applying for 5 jobs in 7 weeks probably breaks your Jobseekers Agreement ( normally you have to apply for 2/3 per week) so even when they do decide to start paying you they probably won't as you you could well be in breach of the terms of the agreement !! Simplest way around it is to keep a written record ( which they normally insist on anyway even though there is no legal obligation to keep such a record, a verbal account is enough) and just stick down you applied to X, Y and Z even if you didn't The only good news is unless you are self employed you can't actually owe NIC !
