SO16_Saint Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 Whenever my bro opens a webpage a red warning screen pops up saying it's unsafe. What needs to be done to fix it??
saint_stevo Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 not look at the pron? I am guessing its IE8, and looks like this? You can turn off the smart screen filter in IE8 by going tools-advanced- and unticking 'enable Smart Screen Filter'

saint_stevo Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 sounds like spoof anti-virus. Try downloading malwarebytes anti-malware and run a scan
SO16_Saint Posted 10 March, 2010 Author Share Posted 10 March, 2010 Ad aware any good?
thesaint sfc Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 Ad aware any good? No. I usually restart, hit F8 before the windows screen displays - boot into safe mode with networking. Run Spybot, Run Malware Bytes. Boot back into normal windows. Run SuperAntiSpyware. If you still think there might be some left overs or want to be particularly thorough, run Avira. Uninstall SAS. Leave the other 3 on there.
