Gemmel Posted 10 March, 2010 Posted 10 March, 2010 Not really an attendance statto or think it holds any real relevance, but outside of the Premier League, who else would sell 44,000 + tickets for a non main stream cup final? I am genuinely amazed that we have (There are loads of ticket threads on the main board, but this is more general) and it looks like we could sell more, if they give us any, but the only clubs I think could do it, are Leeds, Newcastle and possibly West Brom. "Sell" even - Any friendly mods around

"Sell" even - Any friendly mods around Leeds and Newcastle I suspect would do so, a Leeds v Saints final would have been interesting and almost certainly stopped any debate about unsold tickets! WBA maybe but other than just possibly Notts Forest, Swansea and Sheff Utd in the CCC and Norwich in League 1 I would say that is it. Even in the PL I suspect the likes of Hull, Wigan, Burnley or Bolton would struggle to sell 44,000 + for the FA Cup final ! Edited 10 March, 2010 by chrisobee

Sour Mash Posted 11 March, 2010 Posted 11 March, 2010 Loads and loads of clubs. Think LUTON took more for last season's competition. Think Stevenage took over 30k there. It's a day out for a whole town/city. You don't judge a team on it's support at a Wembley final, you judge it on it's support at a dull, midweek, nothing to play for northern away game.

Sour Mash Posted 11 March, 2010 Posted 11 March, 2010 Nobody has ever taken more to Wembley. Millwall DEFINITELY sold more.
krissyboy31 Posted 11 March, 2010 Posted 11 March, 2010 Millwall DEFINITELY sold more. No they didn't! From Millwalls OS report of their play off game last May. ......part of a record-breaking 44,159 Millwall fans that turned the splendid stadium into a sea of blue and white http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10367~1665837,00.html
Sour Mash Posted 11 March, 2010 Posted 11 March, 2010 No they didn't! OK, I'll give you that, although I'm still fairly sure that Millwall did sell more than that. My original point still stands entirely.

Millwall fans always go on about having more fans there because they had fans in the S****horpe end as well. We have fans going in the Carlisle end, so it works both ways...
