thesaint sfc Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 Now the other 2 took several listens to before I got into them. The second album I thought was really good. I'm not a uber super massive fan of them but I've always thought they were alright. This last album is a load of pish though! It's like, Opera/80s Music/Rap all rolled into one and it just doesn't work. Thoughts?

IamLeGod Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 I have to say I'm not with you on this one. It's a bit easier going than the previous two albums. But I find it quite a pleasant, enjoyable album. Once again showing Damon Albarn's impressive versatility. On tour with one of the Best British bands in the last couple of decades, then releasing an album like this the next year. Very impressive. I'd like to see one of them snaring gnarling Gallagher idiots attempt to do anything as diverse as this.
Deppo Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 It's a good album.

swannymere Posted 10 March, 2010 Share Posted 10 March, 2010 I don't get the whole Gorillaz thing, seems to me that it's a load of Albarn's old Groucho club coke heads bigging the music up regardless of quality.
Deppo Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 I think you're still stuck in the '90's. That's the least trenchant insight on Gorillaz I've ever seen.
Rory Posted 11 March, 2010 Share Posted 11 March, 2010 The previous albums didn't really do anything for me, apart from the remixes that were released. I am willing to give this one a go. Is Dan the Automator on it?
