Well then the real admins should do something about it. I don't mind being called up for bad language, untoward remarks or whatever, I can take the rough with the smooth but when someone suddenly accuses me of racism when there's nothing of the sort in sight well that's a job for Baj and Steve.

If I can see that it was a joke , I'm sure others have been able to as well. I don't think you really need any punishments meted out to prove some sort of innocence against a great injustice. However, I will have a word.

Thanks a bunch, and of course an explanation from the culprit as to why he saw fit to act in such a manner. I'm not joking Ponty, until he apologises in public then I won't drop this. I have been accused of racism, let him stand up and apologise for it, if you won't make him I'll PM the owners and get it done. Sorry to be heavy over this but I couldn't see any jocularity, let him explain it to me in public.

Well, he can't today as he's used his three posts by my count. I genuinely don't think you have anything to worry about though. No one thinks the use of the word "slave", in that context, is actually racist.

I'm not jumping to his defence, TDD, I'm just being objective. I can see that WS was joking as easily as I can see that WC isn't a racist for using the word, "slave".

 

I can also see that WS has upset WC and have told him to sort it at the first opportunity to post.

Obviously not , but at least a token fee keeps away some of the stranger element.Mind you if it was down to me there'd be literacy fines as well, but that is a completely different matter.

its going to be quiet on here next season when we are a top 2 side winning regulary. Only coming out when we fail to score more than 3 in a game ;)

I'm posting this here as I'm not able to post new threads. But with all the Pompey stuff going on, no one seems to have noticed that Southend face a very real threat of going out of business. Does anyone know whether this would have a positive or negative effect on the table for us if their results were wiped out?

They have thirty-five days. If it's thirty-five working days, it takes them to just ten days before the season finishes. Even if it's just a straight thirty-five days, do you really think they would wind them up with only five or so games to play? I tried to work out the positive/negative thing with the nipper, but it made my head hurt.

I have re-read my post from yesterday and realise that it has caused you great offence. I now know that when you said the word "slave" you were not being racist. I should have thought about what I posted a bit more. I got a little bit over excited and was just showing off.

 

I truly hope that my comment has not damaged your reputation on the board and would plead with other SWF members to diregard my accusation of racism. Window Cleaner, on this occasion, was NOT being racist.

 

As a token of friendship I will forget about the poor language you used towards me and I would like it known that I have sent you a friendship request. It is a gesture, an olive branch. I hope you can accept this request WC, but will understand if you wish to ignore it.

 

Once again, I am really, really, really, really sorry for all the harm I have done.

Surely it is the am of every club to do as well as possible and to finish as high in the table as possible.

 

To listen to the odd person on here you would think that the team talk would go something like this, " Well lads, we lost to Tranmere so finishing in the play offs will be harder this year, so just go out for the rest of the season and trot around and save yourselves so next season."

 

Surely every club is ambitious withing their ability to compete? Every manager wants to do well? That is waht makes sport so compelling, that everyone is out to beat everybody else. That also means that clubs are not going to roll over and play daed just because we are the mighty Southampton FC. I have no doubt that Pardew's ambition will be to make the play offs if he can and to finish as high as he can. As any manager would.

The 'not giving up' comment is fairly banal. How could you 'give up'? By not trying to win league games? Deliberately fielding a weaker side? The playoffs faded because of too many dropped points in games that were eminently winnable. The manager and the team did their best, but on those days, the opposition did as well or better. Despite the goal feasts against Walsall and Huddersfield it suggests that the squad is not quite as good as we hoped, but the team does now have a solid base but automatic promotion next year will depend on some close season signings.

Probably not but who cares, I don't go in for "friends" or social networking so I didn't accept anyway. No offence meant though, I just don't see it as being genuinely meant this olive branch. Justice has been seen to be done, that's OK.

Nope, I want them to get weeny weeny weeny infraction penalties for every time they spell definitely incorrectly. The rest I can take but there's no way that it can be spelt definately and pronounced correctly. Even the Yanks don't do it so why should we. It happens about 50 or 60 times a day at the moment, must be the word in the English Language which is spelt incorrectly the most often.As for the plowed field jibe yesterday the bloke wants shooting. We have a fair number of overseas posters who are not of our nation, we could at least honour their presence by not making the same error time after time after time.

Once again this is just my personal opinion,me being a throwback to the time when a education was something of value and not just a pastime until you got your first UB40 to fill out.

Probably but I don't think I'm the only one who is depressed by the lack of English skills of late. There has certainly been a major downturn in the last couple of months. Normally you can just pass it all up, the racism taunts I just couldn't let go and I have my reasons for that, the rest is just ancillary.

 

Deanovski has beguiled us all over 3 pages today with his command of the written language and when you say you don't understand,because you don't, they get all wound up and excited over it.
