This Charming Man Posted 7 March, 2010 Share Posted 7 March, 2010 ...who decided to start scrapping with the stewards and police at the final whistle just because you were being taunted by a bunch of teenage kids with a Pompey flag. Well done, how very courageous of you, you must be very proud of yourselves tonight. Utter, utter morons. You are a pathetic embarrassment to our club and we can really do without fans like you. Oh do shut up you pompous, preaching idiot. Are you honestly trying to tell me you have never responded to opposition fans taunting? Have you never taunted another set of fans? Our fans weren't scrapping with stewards and police, they were the ones being heavy-handed and over reacting to the situation - grabbing people left, right and centre for no reason, I even saw them arrest a man for taking a photo! This is what happens at football, it has an edge that other sports don't have, hence why it attracts the largest audiences around the world. Football is all about emotions and passion, not sitting on your hands all game. If you want it all nice and pleasant, please feel free to stop going, you won't be missed. Yesterday some pathetic, weasel looking skate decided to wear his Skate shirt to the game and drag his two daughters along and dress them up in Skate shirts as well, he could have sat anywhere in the ground but chose to sit there - anyone who does that, deserves a slap, thankfully, as we drove past in our cab, it looked as if someone had done just that. Mao Cap Posted 7 March, 2010 Share Posted 7 March, 2010 I enjoyed the reaction when the flag appeared during the game as the atmosphere was mediocre and giving the bloke with it some jip was good fun. The tantrum thrown at full-time seemed a bit daft to me though, not sure what the "lads" were trying to achieve. Aside from anything else, if people were really that riled up then they should have got outside quickly as possible to have it out with Flag Man (or rather the urchins that were his allies - picking on one skinny bald skate with his daughters wouldn't really be on, would it) rather than getting stroppy when still in the ground and getting themselves arrested, probably much to the amusement of Flag Man + urchins. Dan Posted 7 March, 2010 Share Posted 7 March, 2010 I would like to congratulate the saints fan that slapped the skate after the game, good work. In the ground from where I was, nothing really happened the OB were very heavy handed and were arresting left right and centre. Saints fans didn’t actually do much wrong at all. Bexy you seem a bit of an attention seeker to me? Any excuse to make a thread, up your post count and make some cyber friends.
chestersaint Posted 8 March, 2010 Share Posted 8 March, 2010 They did though. They were moved away by the stewards very early on and asked to hide the flag, and when they gave it to somebody else later on it was confiscated by the police. Don't really see what more they could have done. Bexy - yes they were moved away by about 10 yards! And the flag was not confiscated as it kept appearing every now and again including sfter the final whistle. That is exactly my point, the flag should have been in the custody of the police straight off. Simple. If someone rucked up to lets say Stoke v Liverpool and stood near the away fans wearing United colours and waving a Utd flag do you think the police would act or find it amusing? It's a no brainer and the police could and should have done far more.

Kaiser Soze Posted 8 March, 2010 Share Posted 8 March, 2010 Old Bill up there were a joke. Turned around one minibus for having drink on board (what minibus going to football match doesn't?) and then after the game were very heavyhanded and nicking people for literally f//k all. I merely questioned their actions and ended up with one of them grabbing me by the throat. OLD BILL ARE A F//KING DISGRACE.

yorkie Posted 8 March, 2010 Share Posted 8 March, 2010 Big sticks on show all the time - Liverpudlian Cops think they are untouchable! Even joked with one before the game about walking down the street tapping them on the pavement. They are arrogant at best - and deal with some right scalleys! It's no good whinging after the event - you want to wise up! Police are public servants paid to do a job - keeping the peace and confronting trouble head on is a day to day occurence up there. Call heavy handed - but once that whistle went for full time - the game is over! The banter should have stopped then, and gone on outside over a beer! Honestly sometimes I wonder if Saints fans don't deserve the bad press they get due to the small minority wanting a ruck! Having said all that it did get some chanting going and add to the atmosphere... "You Skate B*st*rd!"
RedAndWhite91 Posted 8 March, 2010 Share Posted 8 March, 2010 I'd rather have a stand full of people singing songs, standing, having banter and showing some passion, than a stand full of people sitting there, blanket over their lap and not saying a word all game. And I'm not the only one.

Everyone around me was sat and hardly muttered a word all game. There was a group of blokes behind me and to the left who tried starting songs but hardly anybody joined in. Very poor atmosphere indeed.
Saint_clark Posted 8 March, 2010 Share Posted 8 March, 2010 Sounds like they WERE a bunch of idiots, but if the stewards and police could see the tension the flag was causing they should have removed it. I don't know anything about Tranmere so not too sure who their rivals are, but if we came in with a flag/shirt of their rivals and they got sh*tty about it, i'm sure we'd be ejected sharpish.
