equalizer Posted 21 September, 2008 Share Posted 21 September, 2008 Quick rename this thread, "The official Man City 6 Pompey 0 thread" and start the Harry excuses sweepstake. I'm going for, "The players were tired after playing on Thursday!" excuse!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 21 September, 2008 Share Posted 21 September, 2008 I wonder how long it will be before we hear from PES? I'm going for the "The FA need to change the way the season works, how can we be expected to play 3 games in a week?" excuse.
equalizer Posted 21 September, 2008 Share Posted 21 September, 2008 Lets hope this lifts the Guimares players to overturn that 2-0 deficit. Pompey's creaking defence just can't handle fast attacking football, it could have been double figures according to five live!

Despite their new found wealth I would hardly describe Man City as a 'big boot' quite yet! But many thanks to the inhabitants of that far flung Eastern Hampshire island for lifting my spirits. For once I can honestly say that schadenfreude has a nice taste to it sometimes!

PES Posted 21 September, 2008 Share Posted 21 September, 2008 Returned from Canada this morning. Went to bed with the intention of staying away from the result. I've just watched it on Football First. I feel ill and very disappointed with the hammering, Pompey were woeful. To cap it all off I have to return to work tomorrow after a week off, which you'll be pleased to know has left me feeling thoroughly miserable. Sh*t does happen and we move on. We'll get it back on track against Spurs.
Corporate Ho Posted 22 September, 2008 Share Posted 22 September, 2008 Definitely a bad day at the office. Still, City are going to be right up there this season IMO and as our other defeats were against the two finalists of last years Champs League I don't see how that makes us relegation candidates. On a brighter note, at least it wasn't as bad as this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/fa_carling_premiership/256050.stm

Scummer Posted 22 September, 2008 Share Posted 22 September, 2008 I've been looking for hours, but unfortunately there is no youtube footage of this game: Record defeat 0-10 v Leicester City, 1928 So we'll just have to settle for this (can't link directly but it's easy enough to find): http://www.football.virginmedia.com/page/Football/PremierLeague/VideoIndex/0,,12555,00.html David James had a shocker didn't he. OldNick Posted 22 September, 2008 Share Posted 22 September, 2008 did HR do anyt interviews as he normally sends the others out after a bad result. Im a bit gutted as I have James Campbell and Johnson in my dreamteam!! That'll teach me. Pompey will still do well this season but it did help the week end.
