Where I was (Northam 41, Row S) it was half a beautiful rendition that was interrupted by board banging, a brief fast version and then the realisation that the rest of the singers were still doing the slow one.

 

I absolutely hate the ridiculously fast version in comparison.

I think we need to do at least two renditions of the slow version before it speeds up, whereas on Saturday it started to get fast only to be realised that a second rendition had started and then it speeded up at the different time between both sections of the Northam and Kingsland corner

part of the problem is people that haven't been for a while, where i was in the northam on saturday where a couple of people that obviously hadn't been in a while. As soon as OWTS started they started clapping and going at a million miles an hour which had an effect on those around them

I don't much like it either but also can't stand the 100 mph clappy version either. Should be sang loud and proud, at the correct tempo, so everybody can join in and rock the ground.

Was decent on Saturday. The morons at the back ruin most songs. Wer just need to keep singing slow over them.
