Wycombe V Saints - Post Match Reaction

How come us lot had worked out that we don't perform on Krap pitches and yet....

Oh well, for us who study media management techniques it will be interesting to hear AP explain why the feck the players didn't bother to turn up tonight.

Perhaps a group fine to pay for the tickets of the poor sods who had to watch that would be a start

No other favours in other games tonight with Millwall and Hudderfield both winning - so now 19-points off the play-offs.

Still 48-points to play for...how many do we need now?

I think it would be unforgiving to write off our chances now - but looking very remote. Some of you out there will try and get me to believe we can still do it - but I heard all that last year with the Dutch clown talking about avoiding relegation!

The conditions and the pitch will be to blame along with a spirited Wycombe performance.

B*ll*cks!

Not good enough, a few of us thought this could be a bit of a banana skin for us tonight.

We just didn't seem to be at the races, it's a shame after such a great result at the weekend. But it sums up our season.......

Pardew Out ?? No i don't think so, it will only compound or problems.

Blame Wotton ? If i can

Play offs 19 points away now and receding! That is still 9 away without the minus 10!

That's an interesting statistic. When you look at it like that is tells a very sad story. 10th biggest spenders in the league and even without the 10 point deduction we'd still be 9 points off the play offs. I think Mr. Pardew may have some explaining to do to his superiors.

pretty poor, we've got to learn to win these sort of games if we're going to do anything next season

Dead right.

Every year there are (tops) two teams like Norwich in this division and about 15 teams like Wycombe. We won't win promotion unless we can beat the Wycombes consistently, and we haven't even come close.

Need to adapt to crap pitches

Our problem is that invariably we probably have the best pitch in the entire Football league and the Premiership. Our pitch is head and shoulders above most pitches in this league.

But that shouldn't be an excuse. We have to be better.

Being the ever optimistic happy clappy fan, it could have been worse, could have lost, kept a clean sheet - other than that; underwhelmed by the performance based purely by what I saw on here.

As somebody else has said - would actually have been fairly happy with 4 points from the last two games - but having taken the lot at Norwich it feels a bit like a kick in the balls.

Oh well - back to the Pompey takeover thread to cheer myself up again. ;)

I really cannot stand Saints fans. When the f*ck did we get so unrealistic? The only thing I am disappointed about tonight is not being able to score against the worst defence in the league. Otherwise, why the hell haven't some of you got used to being a Saints fan yet? I had absolutely no hope of us winning tonight. We don't beat winnable teams.

Why is everyone blaming bad pitches ??

We only play our pretty small passing in patches of our game, the majority is a farking long ball to RL !!!!!!!

How the hell does a soggy center circle affect a big hoof ??

IMO we have become far to predictable. It is a big hoof to Rickie or play through Lallana, when those angles do not work we are f*cked.

Pards, we need to buy some shooting boots for next season.

I agree but also agree with the previous point.

We make a meal out of playing on dodgy pitches but then Leeds, Charlton and Norwich all have to play on the same pitches at some point or another and they manage to pick up more points than not.

Its something that we are going to have to improve on next season if we cant make it out of this league this season.

All very disappointing.

I read a couple of months back that AP says Saints have two ways to play. Maybe he needs to think of a third against negative opposition on poor pitches although tbf you would expect the players to have a bit of nous and mix it up a bit.

So buying two of the leagues top scorers is not that?

Now i'm sorry, but that comment is just ridiculous. Look at our goal difference.

I have been voicing concern over our central midfield for a while now and the lack of cover we have for Schneiderlin and Hammond. Feel that concern is now vindicated lose one of those two players and we lack the bite to tackle some of these teams who play with a game plan to spoil first and win second.

Pitch is irrelevant IMO and same for both sides and perhaps we have to many 'light' show pony players who expect a billiard table surface at this level.

Seaborne was an unnecessary purchase and we should without a shadow of a doubt bought a Central Midfielder or put Gillett and not Wotton on the bench!

People are making out that we need to learn to play on poor pitches?

Half of the games we have in this league are in crap pitches.

Half of the team have been used to this level for a while whilst the other half played in the CCC which also has it share of crap pitches

also we have played on enough crap pitches THIS season to have learned by the last week of February
