St Landrew Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 I'm watching it right now. Of course, it is much, much, much harder than the celebs expected. It's notable that the arsehole Marquis of Blandford, couldn't even spend one night on the streets. He gave up as soon as he experienced a bit of discomfort. The rest, by the end of the first programme, have given it a pretty good go. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8116661.stm It's easy to say that it is just a vehicle for the celebs to appear good in the public eye. But the programme goes a bit further than that. Typically BBC, it doesn't sugarcoat or overly dramatise. My opinion of one member of the aristocracy reached a new low, and it was pretty much at basement level anyway. I only use the word for the very worst of people, but Jamie Blandford qualifies. The man is a c**t. Apologies for that.
Ponty Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 Karl Pilkington had the idea for this programme about 9 years ago. Just like his other masterpiece, "Rockbusters", it's been ripped off by the major corporations.

Block 5 Posted 24 February, 2010 Share Posted 24 February, 2010 I've been touting my idea for Celebrity Battle Royale (CBR) for years but no production company will touch it.
St Landrew Posted 26 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 26 February, 2010 (edited) Wasn't Jamie Blandford a heroin addict years ago? Yep. He nearly lost his inheritance through his addiction. Going without a palace - that sorted him out. Sadly, nearly lost means he still gets it. I'd like Blenheim Palace, wouldn't you..?
