music recovery

I have some how managed to lose loads of music and some photos from my pc. is there any specialist music/photo recovery software about or will it just be data recovery software ????

 

i have seen some data recovery software on line that is freeware... is this any good?? or is it better to pay for it??

 

it is only the music and photos that i am concerened about, i have not lost any critical files, so i am really looking for a music/photo recovery if such a thing exists..
