Just a question to anyone that knows anything about mountain bikes.

Picking one of these bikes up tomorrow from the police as my Pa had one put in his garden a month ago and it has not been claimed, therefore it is now all mine!

Apparently it's black and still had wrapping on both tyres and looked new.

Also the copper said it was bloody nice apparently.

Anyone got one on here? as i know nothing about what makes a good push bike.

Hopefully it is similar to this! .....

I know a lot more about road bikes than off-road ones, but if it's anything like the one you've given a link to then it's a very fine piece of kit indeed. Even if the components on yours aren't of the same standard it'll still be very good, as it's clearly a high-quality, double-suspension frame. And it's massively unlikely that anyone would fit low-end components to a high-end frame.

Are you planning on using it (and if so what kind of use would you put it to?) or selling it? Not that I'm interested in buying, just that it would seem a little pointless to use something of that sort for pootling round town! For more about the bike itself, look here:

A serious piece of kit...

I will use it, as i currently have a knackered bike that has been stuck in top gear since 2006!

Will use it for work and getting from A too B as i don't have a car at present.

Would be a shame not to use it to it's full potential if it does happen to be a good'un.

Thanks for the bike Dog.

If you need my location, well err....check my location :)

Mate, if your using it to get from A to B then i'd sell it as it will get nicked, very nice bike and the frame and rear shock are worth £1k on their own!

Seconded. You can't buy a bike lock which would keep that safe! Best thing to do would be:

1. Get a reasonable idea of what that bike would cost new (my guess would be at least £2,000).

2. Sell it for half of that.

3. Use about half that money to get a decent commuting bike, with either a hub gear or single-speed (single-speed fixed wheel is my preference, but that's not everyone's cup of tea!)

4. Pocket the rest of the money.

£5000!!.....Made from Titanium or carbon fibre and diamond encrusted?

Jeez,i am way behind the times.

Carbon fibre is probably the favourite these days; the one you've got is aluminium. As to potential bike prices, check this one:

Somebody who's serious enough and has the money (or even just has the money!) would part with that amount for a bike that good. As I said earlier, you'll be best off selling the Bullit and using the money for something else. If still in doubt, look at this - there are two versions of a built-up Bullit there:

My word,nearly £9000 for a bike.

To say you have to be an enthusiast is a understatement.

I appreciate the advice,i have no need for something so damn expensive and i will just be more concerened about it's security and scratcing it.

I knew you could get some pricey BMX bikes as whilst on holiday in Cheddar,nr the Gorge, they had the BMX championships which was televised by sky, and there was some bloody expensive bits of kit on show.

Mind you, nothing like i have seen on the links you posted.

You learn something new everyday.

I have a mate that rides professionally (bikes that is....) and his garage is littered with carbon kevlar frames, forks, wheels that would blow away if someone breathed on them....he has wheels on his 'commuting' bike that he's raced on for a season that would be about £600 each new. It's a different world....
