131million on wages alone in the three years thats excluding spending in excess of 50 million on transfers makes our spending beyond our means pale in comparrison, ole saggy face truely did them in by spending so much on transfers they couldn't afford. I feel this is saints related as we were in a simalar position

Diabolical accounting, and they only get 17,000 at home.

Hope they enjoyed their brief moment in the sun because the cost to them will ruin them for years.

unless they get the takover and investment...... i have a feeling they will unfortunately

Telegraph says south african consortium no good and administration by end of week

I see chainrai has now taken ownership of Fratton Park and is leasing back to the club. I presume that protects him in administration in that whilst he'd lose his shares in the club he would still get his £1 million a year rent and indeed still own the ground if the club doesn't pay the rent.

The club's only other option would be to move away from fratton park if the rent was too high. They could always ground share with Havant and Waterlooville. They have a capacity of about 5500, easily enough for pompey in next few years!

Bit like buying a house aware the sitting tennant is about to be made redundant yet you still increase the rent by a grand a month.

Seems to me as if Chanrai has looked at this and thought "how will I protect my investment?" So he's taken the only obvious tangible thing in the knowledge that if they stay in existence he's guaranteed at least some money and if they don't then he can use the land for other things.

To keep this on a saints related theme, how on earth could we suffer what we did last year and then look down the road and see such blatant mis-management on a far larger scale? I think their only hope is to declare themselves a third world country (which isn't far from the truth) and then write off the debt.

Not saints related as Lowe wouldn't allow us to spend money we didn't have but we all know what saggy face is like and how much did he have stuffed in brown envelopes. Strange how nobody could forsee what could happen if you spend beyond your means.

This has been posted on the thread in the Lounge, but it's worth putting here as well I think:

Frightening numbers in there. And, as a bonus (arf!) note that Redknapp's claim that the money can't all have gone on wages is directly contradicted in Storrie's interview on ESPN Storrienet - oops, sorry, that should of course be Soccernet.

Further developments announced on Solent today which are pretty damning really. It seems Fahim is trying to get out as quick as he can. It was confirmed today that PFC have accepted his resignation as Chairman. He wants to give over his (10%?) holding to the supporters trust?!?! The supporters trust guy was making all kinds of excuses as to why they had to look very carefully at the offer etc.!!!! LOL - seems even their 'best' supporters don't want the responsibility of ownership, but who could blame them - who would want to be holding the sh1tty end of the stick when it gets passed to you?!

Fahim's hasty withdrawal can only mean one thing - he KNOWS the end is nigh and wants nothing of it. And in turn, the supporters trust people must be VERY wary of the consequences of owning a piece of the extremely dodgy dogs dinner that is PFC!!!

All gone quiet from the Pompey fans. I expect the reality is actually dawning on them now that it is staring them in the face.

I was talking to my Pompey supporting friend earlier and he seemed pretty down about it, especially as our friendship developed with friendly Saints-Pompey banter he was very subdued about it all.

What was Peter Story doing showing the contract of one his employees, which you assume is a private matter, to Redknapp who has no connection with the club?
