Armitage Shanks Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 I cannot find on any of the main bookies websites any odds for Saints going up via the playoffs. Anyone got any idea what odds I could get ?
tisspahars Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 We are around 7/1 to be promoted, which, seeing as it ain't going to be automatic, makes us around 7/1 to win the play off final.
Window Cleaner Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 I cannot find on any of the main bookies websites any odds for Saints going up via the playoffs. Anyone got any idea what odds I could get ? that would be whatever our odds are for promotion wouldn't it?. I think it's only about 8/1 or something like that (we're 200/1 to win the league) not great odds for a team with a 17 point deficit really. Bookies must know something
The9 Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Just for fun, I'll just throw into the mix that if you want to bet on the Skates to get relegated you'll get odds of 1/25.
daveygwyatt Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 im still not giving up on my 34/1 i did at start of season on saints up and pompey down!!! mind you if the skates go bust... i think thats my bet down ( i could live with that)

Thanks. What poor odds. Tie it in with some kind of accumulator might be best including who we will play in the play off final.
S41NTS Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 The bookies have us at 7/1 which, interestingly is pretty much the same as MK Dons who currently have 12 more points than us. BTW it took very little googling to find this... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-one/coca-cola-league-1/promotion

samoakley Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 The bookies can see when a team can make a good run and cut odds on teams who have more home games, and or playing teams in the bottom half in there last 5-10 games which we have, i would bet on it now if we carry on good form which we should and i hope we do are odds will drop after are next 3 games which IMO are the biggest 3 of our season so far and we should win them except maybe htfc which will be hard.
saint_stevo Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 save your money. I'll give you 40's btw
Ponty Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 save your money. I'll give you 40's btw I'll take those odds. Gotta be worth a punt at 40-1.
camdijk Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Looking at the current odds, the bookies currently have us finishing in 8th place in the league div 1.
Armitage Shanks Posted 23 February, 2010 Author Posted 23 February, 2010 save your money. I'll give you 40's btw I will have £20 on that
tisspahars Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 Saint Stevo - if you put even a third of those odds up on Betfair you would get your arm taken off. I suggest you do that - unless your all talk of course....
Bourne Valley Saint Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 A mate and I made a bet on 30 October of £20.00 each way (the slip says Each way to win Championship League One) which I assume means winning the play off Final and hopefully not finishing 3rd!) and got odds of 66/1 with Ladbrokes.
tisspahars Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 I'd be astonished if it wasn't to finish 3rd i'm afraid.
The9 Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 I'd be astonished if it wasn't to finish 3rd i'm afraid. Me too.
Big Ron fan Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 If we win, say, our next 5 games, we'll probably still be more than 10 points from the play-offs, with games starting to run out. It must be very, very unlikely we could put together a run that will get us there, taking account of likely injuries, etc. Here's hoping, though!
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 i've got a trixie bet for Saints to win the JPT, pompey relegated and Villa to win the carling cup. Any two of those come in and i'm £400 richer. Looking good.

mikec Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 7-1 is extremely poor value for Saints to get promoted. We would need an exceptional run of form until the end of season just to get into the top 6 and even then, I would only give us a 1 in 4 chance of winning the play-off "lottery".
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 Could be all over for you by Monday night. Dont talk like that. I've convinced myself the reason that not one single accumulator has come in this season is due to the fact that this early season speculative bet was coming home.
Marky-G Posted 23 February, 2010 Posted 23 February, 2010 Just for fun, I'll just throw into the mix that if you want to bet on the Skates to get relegated you'll get odds of 1/25. just checked paddy power they are now 1/50
tonibell Posted 24 February, 2010 Posted 24 February, 2010 (edited) I cannot find on any of the main bookies websites any odds for Saints going up via the playoffs. Anyone got any idea what odds I could get ? Should read what odds on Saints making the Playoffs. After tonight poor showing on a sh-t pitch Edited 24 February, 2010 by tonibell
solentsaint Posted 25 February, 2010 Posted 25 February, 2010 After the 0-0 draw, we are now 16/1 to gain promotion (coral)
