Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Well, that's that! Another draw, but I'll still be at Donny next week. w00t! I'm not very happy with 2 points from 6, but I'm not suprised. It's going to be a long old season.
Colinjb Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Will the last person to leave St Mary's please turn out the lights. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Blimey, a record LOWE league attendance.
gjphilsaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 ok will wait for those at the game to get here. Beofre I do thanks for the banter today shame not much of it was about the game..Ho hum
badgerx16 Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Question for the 'positives' on here; is two points from 4 home games enough to keep you happy ?
AwaySaint1 Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Blimey, a record LOWE league attendance. Numbers please.
Colinjb Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Blimey, a record LOWE league attendance. What was it?
Micky Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Will be interested to hear from those who were at the game. Gotta say though - expected more from the last two games - would have settled for 4 points - 2 is a pretty poor return given the circumstances.
pele Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 2 games undefeated! An extremely optimistic way to look at it! Anyway lets get back to Lucy's doughnuts!
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 What was it? It was circa 14,000 N.B that's obviously at St.Mary's, not The Dell
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 (edited) 5 points from 21 is just not good enough! It was Barnsley FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant even beat them at home! Edited 20 September, 2008 by SOTONS EAST SIDE
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 LMAO! The Radio Hampshire 'highlights' have NOTHING, just background music. Sums it up nicely!
Saint Billy Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Lucy was my highlight this afternoon!
saintjay77 Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 looking better but still lacking that finishing touch. DM is not a 20 goal a season man and in this system neither is John Having 7 shots on target is promising but a keeper can get a shot on target from a free kick in his own area so it doesnt mean they are all meaningfull shots. Still think that at some point we will have 1 or 2 players clicking in the same match and we will score goals for fun shhowing what can be produced. just unsure if they can learn to replroduce that week in week out and if they can produce it sooner rather than later
saintjay77 Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Question for the 'positives' on here; is two points from 4 home games enough to keep you happy ? nope not at all when results are what really matter but the positive things that we are doing is still much better than some of the tripe we were served last year. if they can get enough points to make us safe and play the game the way they are trying to then it will be a big improvment on last year. dreamland would have us being the next arsenal or ajax and walk away with the league and onwards
Guest Hacienda Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Good to see our young strikers banging them in as promised. Good to see the the crowds flooding back as promised. Good to see the boycott hasn't had any impact. I'll still be at Rotherham and Donny though.
gjphilsaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 great news I had this game down as 0-0 on the saints prediction league!!!
gjphilsaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 ok we didnt let any goals in we didnt slide down the table barnsley and forest didnt make any ground on us so.. a good result then!
alpine_saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Blimey, a record LOWE league attendance. Let's face it, there's not a lot of incentive to turn up, is there ??? 2 points from 2 home games - not good enough.

Mr Saints Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 On paper this is one of the easiest games of the season, therefore, I'm dissapointed.
saintjay77 Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Good to see our young strikers banging them in as promised. Good to see the the crowds flooding back as promised. Good to see the boycott hasn't had any impact. I'll still be at Rotherham and Donny though. So if they do start scoring for fun, and then the crowds do start coming back to the numbers from last season will you still be saying the boycott has had an impact? Would take a hell of a lot to find out I know but you get my point
gjphilsaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 the question is are you "the half eaten doughnut is a tanatlising treat to be anticipated" or "there is only a meagre half a doughnut left to attempt to stave of my unceasing hunger"?
gjphilsaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 oh and we will walk this league walking.....yes!
DG Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Doomed. I wonder which will come first, relegation or administration?
DarloSaint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 What a fkin shambles. If things don't change they will stay the same. One of my lowest points in 35 years of being a Saint](*,) :drinkers:
Saint for ever Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 3 games, 1 week, 2 points. This is not good enough.
70's Mike Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Lets hope that when there forward skipped round Davis with about 8 minutes left and put it in the side netting was a turning point in our season. Surman playing central midfield is a mistake , he is one footed and should be left midfield. It is all very well playing BWP and DMG as the wide players but they keep drifting in field and there were vast spaces down both flanks. The other question is why do we pull every back to defend corners, Barnsley left 3 up and every time we had a corner we had to keep 4 back to defend it. We dominate the game between the boxes for long periods but in relatity their keeper did not have a difficult save to make. Very disappointing AND at present i cannot see it getting better
Guest Hacienda Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 So if they do start scoring for fun, and then the crowds do start coming back to the numbers from last season will you still be saying the boycott has had an impact? Would take a hell of a lot to find out I know but you get my point Point A - They won't. Point B - They won't. Point C - It will continue to.
hypochondriac Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Doomed. I wonder which will come first, relegation or administration? I'll probably kill myself to save myself from the inevitable tbh. I was at the game btw and it was boring! Still not unduly worried. One win and we will be out of the relegation zone which will suit me.
alpine_saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 14,836 attendance confirmed on the OS (which now seems to be working OK). Take off the away fans, leaves 14,000 - I cant remember the ST sales, but that must mean not many non-ST holders are coming any more. Very, very worrying. A few more weeks of this and the club is finished...
Dark Munster Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Let's face it, there's not a lot of incentive to turn up, is there ??? 2 points from 4 home games - not good enough. I've corrected it for you.
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Still, look on the bright side - TWO games unbeaten now and could be FOUR by next Saturday evening. :-) I am, of course, being ironic.
alpine_saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 I've corrected it for you. Dankeschoen..

miserableoldgit Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Absolutely no sign of the passing game that the team employed earlier in the season. No pattern to the play and no shape to the team. No saves for either keeper (virtually all of Saints shots/chances were straight at their keeper. He didn`t have to move). Too much "hit and hope" from Saints. A Barnsley team that were physical but no better than us. ONLY positive to come from game - didn`t lose. Total Football? Total Shambles IMHO. Well done Northam/Itchen North for keeping going and creating some atmosphere.

Considering our lack of squad depth, surely this deterioration in performance comes as no surprise ? The Luvvies have stopped talking about piissing all over the opposition for 20-35mins, and are now talking about the kids giving maximum effort...
alpine_saint Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Just a little melodramatic there mate...! Perhaps you should define what you mean by 'finished'. Administration - there is no way that these attendance levels will allow SFC to fulfill its side of the deal with Barclays, especially as we cannot flog anyone until January...
70's Mike Posted 20 September, 2008 Posted 20 September, 2008 Just a little melodramatic there mate...! Perhaps you should define what you mean by 'finished'. that without a better attendance we can cut as many costs as we like , administration is looming. I did not believe we were that close to it pre season because i thought cut costs, and start winning, but the general public are not impressed by ball retention, square passing etc they want to see THEIR team winning

I admit I haven't been to any games this season, but f**kin' 'ell, just how entertaining was this 0-0 against Barnsley, 0-1 against Blackpool, 1-4 against QPR etc? 2 points from 4 home games so far and you are saying it's a big improvement on last year.
