I went at the beginning of august last year. Beautiful place, didn't see a cloud all week! The surrounding area isn't the best, but to be honest we didn't really leave the complex except for nightlife and of course the beach. The food was excellent, rooms were really clean and air conditioned. The entertainment was also really good! The only thing i would recommend would be getting a "swim-up" room as after about 11 am, the chances of getting a sunbed by the main pool is highly unlikely! Would definately recommend it.

I went there in August last year. It was awful. When we got there we found that no one spoke English and my son, who is has a lazy eye was treated with contempt everywhere we went. The jacuzzi didn't work properly and when we complained to the rep, he just said "It's not a jacuzzi, it's a bath". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked around and all the others there said that their jacuzzis were broken as well.

On the second day we had to go to hospital as my son slipped around the pool and landed on his head. I carried him to the reception and tried to communicate with them that we needed an ambulance, but they couldn't understand and just laughed because of my sons eye. In the end I got a taxi to the hospital and it took so long to get us there that by the time we arrived my son was ok and we just went back to the hotel.

Dinner was a joke. I ordered the vegetarian option and when it arrived it was just vegetables. No fish or anything. The place is a joke.

I heard some pretty bad storied while I was there as well, stuff about women being attacked at night. I went out but couldn't see any women about at all.

When we were at the Holiday Village in Cyprus, we met a couple who had been there with their two kids. They said it was great for kids' clubs, etc, but that the drinks were frighteningly expensive. They spent over £1000 on drinks alone in a week. They also reckon they had an algae bloom in the pool which made in unusable for most of the time they were there.

To be honest, its not a place to go sight seeing or anything high profile. You can do watersports and such on the beach and around the local area. Just down the road there are a few shops and cafes, and there are also a few bars and clubs but nothing huge. We found that we rarely left the complex to be honest, its pretty much got everything you need, however as someone has mentioned the drinks are quite expensive, but there are shops close to the hotel which are much cheaper, so you can stock up there!

If this is the place I'm thinking of my next door neighbour went there last summer with his family. He couldn't wait to get home.

He said that the entertainment they put on was shocking including a racist comedian and an old man who did baloon sculpting who later exposed himself to his wife after the show.

His daughter also got an electric shock from a hairdryer which ruined things for her as it affected her conifidence in using the facilities. As somone above mentioned the staff weren't really interested in any reported problems, even when the fire alarm went off they appeared disinterested apparently.

I have a friend who went there the year before last.

He said he was on the beach and picked up a weird crab shell, which he put in his pocket. When he got it out later and put it on the table whilst him and his girlfriend were having dinner the waiter who was serving them absolutely freaked out and started shouting 'no! no!' in broken English and waving his hands about.

Him and his girlfriend didn't know what was up until they noticed that the waiter had three fingers on his left hand missing. At that point the crab-thing came out of the shell and skuttled off out of the terrace and disappeared into the street.

Apparently it had huge, gnarley teeth and its venom, when secreted, is powerful enough to kill a horse in just a few seconds.

Loads and loads of people have been injured or killed by them every year, but it happens so often that it hardly even gets reported.
