JRM Posted 24 February, 2010 Share Posted 24 February, 2010 You appear to be underestimating the size of our customer base compared to Carlisle's. I guarantee you if Carlisle's was anywhere near the size of ours, they would be allowing less tickets per season ticket, and allowing themselves longer to process purchases in each sales period. Do you really think we need a whole week sales periods for fans who attended mk dons at home? most of them will either be season ticket holders, or mates of who could already have tickets as part of the +1. That window should only be 2 days, no need for any longer. Just crack on and sell out the allocation, gives us the best chance of getting more in. The fastest selling period after the season ticket holders will be general sale when people can buy tickets from the ticket office, in groups to sit with family/mates
.comsaint Posted 24 February, 2010 Share Posted 24 February, 2010 Total of 17300 sold at close of business today. Source Saints Twitter Cheers for that. Would greatly appreciate a daily update if possible - just to keep tabs on how many have been sold & how many are likely to go on general sale, etc.

Dunno why everyone is stressing anyway, it's not like we're short of time to sell them, and we haven't even begun to start thinking about despatching tickets yet. Why put the staff under unnecessary pressure to process that sort of volume of sales in such a short time period?

Again, to my point of having the windows open at the ground to sell tickets, much quicker than going through loads of postal applications. jawillwill Posted 24 February, 2010 Share Posted 24 February, 2010 Err, no. Just do a postal application. How do postal applications work? I might do it instead of waiting on hold for hours on the phone. Are they quite reliable? I'd be a little nervous about knowing whether or not its been received and processed...do they contact you to tell you? I need 2 tickets, but only know 1 customer number (my friend has one but doesn't know it despite booking over the phone for MKDons.)

Handed mine in first thing Monday morning rather than actually posting it, had it processed last night. The only way you can check before actually receiving the tickets is to keep an eye on your bank account/credit card statement, or check your online account, which has an order history on it. Never yet had a postal application fail me, and I still have one outstanding for my friends who are entitled to Wembley tickets from Monday. As far as your friend's customer number goes, call the ticket office. Name and postcode should be enough for them tobe able to confirm it.

You have missed the point I was making. The point I was making was that the reason behind not allocating saints any more tickets was due to segregation reasons (according to echo) yet carlisle are selling there tickets via general sale where any tom **** or harry can buy a ticket(s). So should saints sell out their allocation was is to stop saints fans buying carlisle tickets?

I should think one of the reasons Carlisle are selling theirs first is so they can limit sales to local customers or database once/if Saints' tickets sell out. There's nothing to stop Saints people choosing to buy tickets in the wrong end whilst their own team are still pre-General sale, but you'd have to be some kind of mental... Best case scenario is all the JCLs and plastics end up in the wrong end, they wouldn't help the atmosphere much anyway.
oldsarum Posted 25 February, 2010 Share Posted 25 February, 2010 are you sure? Carlisle had theirs last week. Tickets are definately at the ticket office, as I was mistakenly told I could collect my London Saints allocation of tickets today only yo be told later that I had to wait until later. They are just delaying sending them out until March 15th as per info on official site info which allows two weeks for tickets to get to everyone which should be more than adequate but I'm sure we'll see many people on here panicing when they haven't arrived by March 17th

JRM Posted 25 February, 2010 Share Posted 25 February, 2010 Told you people would start to panic. you're doing already !!! It is not a case of panicing, i just think there is a small club/ town mentality about how the club are approaching this "big day", much prefer the sales model carlisle are using, none of this fannying about with the post, and lets hold on to the tickets til nearer the time mentality, just put them on sale and get on with it. in my opinion saints have made it harder for themselves then need be. It isn't that many more tickets than the pompey home cup game, have the ticket office windows open and let people queue if they want. makes the sales windows shorter, there is a week and a half between season ticket holder window and database, mental. We should be pushing to have the biggest club support ever at the new Wembley
St.Bart -No.1 Posted 25 February, 2010 Share Posted 25 February, 2010 Told you people would start to panic. you're doing already !!! No Panic, Just don't trust the ticket office, had bad experiences before with tickets not being posted out and then when queried still being sat in the ticket office the day before the match . Even when I handed a postal application in last Friday and asked for confirmation, the answer was we can't do that and the attitude that I got back didn't breed trust. Have telephoned the sales line yesterday and they were very helpful confirming my order so I know it is all OK. Still would be nice to say I have a ticket and not have to now rely on some goof to correctly address an envelope and find their way to a post box. We are not Man U we only have 12,000 odd ST holders why can't I hand over cash and receive a ticket instead of handing over a letter " Dear sir, I've been a good supporter please let me have a ticket" and then have waiting 3 weeks to receive it. Not exactly a model of good customer service. Please don't tell me use On line that service is a joke and no way am i paying £3 ticket extra for the privellige of a telephone booking. We should be pushing to have the biggest club support ever at the new Wembley So our structured, block-by-block, transparent, preferential, limited ticket sales is "small town" compared to Carlisle's "sell 9 tickets to anyone asap" approach ? Okay... We've made it harder because we want to sell to people in a fair way at appropriate times. Based on historical attendances there are probably more potential buyers per ticket for Saints 44,000 than for Carlisle's 25,000, so structuring it is not difficult to understand. The alternative to making people wait is a massive free-for-all and everyone queueing for hours on end unnecessarily, whether they're a one-match passer by or an ST holder who hasn't missed a game for years. You might also like to consider that you can print 9 tickets for one person with one payment almost as quick as you can for 1 ticket, but it takes a lot longer to process 9 separate applications for 1 ticket each and take those 9 separate payments, so Carlisle probably have lower transaction times per ticket sold and can sell them more quickly anyway. The fact that we're still shifting ST-holder tickets at a rate of around 7,000 a day into Thursday and also that there's a match on Saturday for which the TO has to be able to sell at the windows too have all informed the process, which I think the TO have got spot on. If they made MK-buyers or General available from now, no-one would be able to get a Walsall ticket.

You've ignored two more convenient methods for frankly spurious reasons, but you're still complaining about the only remaining option ? This one's down to you, I'm afraid. I'm sure I could have gone to the trouble to be inconvenienced as well if I'd wanted to, but I booked online and by postal application via a mate to get my tickets and I haven't had to spend more than 30 seconds on it. northam soul Posted 26 February, 2010 Share Posted 26 February, 2010 Officially they can only sell a max of 25,000 this week if all season ticket holders take up their allocation. There would probably be another max 16,000 from the MK Dons games window. On that basis there will be a couple of thousand left from season ticket holders plus i would estimate approx 4k left from the dons window leaving approx 9-10,000 left when they go on General sale so people should not panic about getting a ticket.
