miserableoldgit Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 It's a shame he didn't display such principles with his expenses claims. Yes because the Tories are whiter than white there, aren`t they?
dune Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 Yes because the Tories are whiter than white there, aren`t they? The Tories have never claimed the mantel of being the robin hood of politics. Wheras Socialism is based on taking from the rich to give to the poor. Denhams comfy chairs hardly fit in well with the fake principles of the Labour Party. He's no different to "Two Jags". He's a typically two faced Socialist. dune Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 I'd sort of guessed already that you know very little about political principles and tenets. This absolutely gives substance to my guess. You're having a laugh. New Labour is no different to the Socialism of old. Tax and spend - Tax and waste - that's Socialism for you. Just look at all the bone idle slobs that live on benefits as a life choice - that's good old fashoned Socialism for you. Rewarding the idle and taxing the workers is what you Socialist lot are all about.
bridge too far Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 I'm giving up on you, Dune. I'm more than happy to enter into an intelligent debate with anyone about - well - almost anything. I draw the line at debating with someone who hasn't the foggiest idea what they're talking about and who has to resort to insults to try to get a (non) point across. Come back when you've taken the time and troule to do a bit of proper reading / to grow up.

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 You're giving up because you know full well i've hit the nail on the head. If you believe that PROPER socialism is all about rewarding those who, as you put it, are 'bone idle slobs' then you certainly HAVEN'T hit the nail on the head. I'm sure you would remove the welfare system entirely; "Get those lazy bastards working" I'm sure you would say... Where are they going to find the jobs Dune? What caused the current financial crisis? Oh that's right, RAMPANT CAPITALISM!
miserableoldgit Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 (edited) You're giving up because you know full well i've hit the nail on the head. If you honestly believe that Camerons mob will make a scrap of difference to your life or mine under Brown, you are at best delusional. What caused the current financial crisis? Oh that's right, RAMPANT CAPITALISM! And why is Britain up to it's eyeballs in debt after a decade of prosperity built on the back of the Major Governments policies? Where did all the money go? Browns tax tax tax and spend spend spend policies during the good times left the cupboard bare! Britain should be coming out of this recession in a strong position with years of surplus reserves to call on, but alas Prudence Brown spent all the money. Gordon brown would make a perfect CEO at Pompey!

Mao Cap Posted 23 February, 2010 Share Posted 23 February, 2010 You're giving up because you know full well i've hit the nail on the head. 1. Make an identical rant with every post until everyone gets bored with the circular argument resulting from your stupidity and inability to actually discuss things. 2. Claim victory. Well done sir. Unless you happen to be a millionaire who is about going to die quite soon, I can't see what other tax cuts the Tories are proposing. Good news for Cameron and Osborne's millionaire friends. Come back when you've taken the time and troule to do a bit of proper reading / to grow up. Watching you guys trying to educate dune is like watching half a dozen grown men trying to teach a dog to play scrabble, funny for about ten seconds and then thoroughly tedious. What is it with this forum, you have an interesting politics based thread, and within 5 posts its Blair vs Thatcher, again. Let’s get back on topic. The Brown as bully thing is strangely an indicator of how the wheels have already fallen off the Tory vote, and Labour are beginning to mount a slight recovery. When Brown came into power he was hit with the Stalin tag, and then Vince Cable came along with his Mr Bean line and Brown has been a laughing stock ever since. The fact the Stalin line is back should represent a small victory for Brown, and god knows, he needs every kind of victory he can get.

Good news for Cameron and Osborne's millionaire friends. True. If the Tories get in expect to pay more tax as they seek to reduce the budget deficit more quickly than is necessary. The only party planning a tax decrease that is relevant to me iare the Lib Dems - making the first 10000 quid tax free. Worth an extra 800 quid a year (or a holiday) to me. Nice. Exactly, and if you are a married working couple, then you will end up with £1,400 between you to spend, which can only be good news.
ecuk268 Posted 24 February, 2010 Share Posted 24 February, 2010 According to the latest polls and the usual pattern of the gap between the parties narrowing just before the election, we're heading for a hung parliament. So, who will that nice Mr.Clegg get into bed with?

So, who will that nice Mr.Clegg get into bed with? He has said recently that in event of hung parliament he is not that interested in coalition, but will focus on getting Lib Dem four key themes implemented. I think he would then get the Lib Dems to abstain on Queen's Speech, so the government (whoever it was) would have a chance to govern.
