We were superb today.

Didn't look like a red card but we were outplaying them with 11 v 11 anyway.

Puncheon really is class. Pity he didn't score when one on one as his play deserved a goal.

Aside from the goals, Barnard was excellent at defending from the front. The whole team were extremely solid and limited Norwich to long range shots and crosses from deep. Can only remember Davis having to make 2 real saves, one of which he tipped onto the bar being top draw.

Fonte and Jaidi had Holt in their pocket and reduced him to some amusing stroppy outbursts a la St Mary's in the JPT.

Amazing pies too.

I am the skates new saviour, because I've had an email from Nigeria telling me I've won a hundred million euros, all I've go to do is send a cheque for £10,000, do you think Storrie will advance me they money?

He's been caught out like that before. They were clever enough to disguise themselves as Arabs :-)

Ah it was puncheon then. For a minute I thought it looked like Antonio but didn't remember hearing him come on that early.

Very selfless setup indeed. Was great to turn my opinions of the new boys around in this game. Especially when it comes to lee 'get in the way in the box' Barnard as I had come to know him as :-)

Just got in from my evening out. Opened a bottle of Adnams bitter, and all is well with the world. A bird was singing its heart out from a road sign, I'm off to do some cross country skiing in the morning to help my lungs, and I'm glad I'm not spending my limited resources on the JPT final as I'm saving up for the playoffs..!! I so, so want to cross Italy, Switzerland, France and Belgium in my car covered in red and white....

Just how optimistic should I be????

I'm in a dilemma now. Have booked 2 weeks off work and in the process of organising flights back for the JPT (pleeeease let me get 2 tickets!!!!)...but I can only afford to come back once this year. Would rather come back for a game that really means something like the playoff final (but if we don't get there then the Cup Final really will mean something!!)

Thanks for the reports guys. I had BBC Sports Live Text on and I could see from Stats etc that we were well on top, especially first half. The goals will do Barnard good and give him extra confidence now and I really look forward to seeing Puncheon at SMS. I watched him at Exeter on that mud heap and could see he was classy on the ball with an excellent first touch.

reading the reactions..what is really pleasing is that the NEW players seemed to have stood out today..

it is great when you bring in good players and they make the first team better almost straight away..

well done to Barnard and Puncheon it seems

We should never buy 'squad' players... if you're buying worse than you have, why the feck are you buying them... something that has always cheesed me off!

I've never had a problem with Norwich or their fans, but reading this today they seem very bitter towards us for some reason. Now I don't have a problem with criticising the officials, but they seem to have forgotten the rest of the match that we totally dominated. http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=6875&posts=7

They certainly haven't realised we've been bought by a billionaire owner either judging by all the Admin type comments...but neither do many people outside of Southampton, every time I mention it to anyone at work they look at me as if I am mad...

Calling us tossers...what does that make them, I wonder...? Most of their fans are geriatrics in rubber ****-pants bussed in from care homes in Cromer and Dereham!

Jealousy is a horrible emotion.

They amaze me Norwich; tosser support?! Yes, Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarwich may have 26,000 ST holders, but they're all OAP scarfers and there was no atmosphere there yesterday at all (from their fans anyway)! We dominated them from start to finish and to dwell on what was, I'll admit, a dubious red card from where I was standing is childish beyond belief. They forget that we beat them on the way to the JPT final, and I am sure if they were on their way, they would be singing about it too.

Norwich = nothing town, nothing team, nothing support and deserve to be in this league.

to be honest..I hope we give the cups a completely wide berth and concentrate solely on promotion

The Fa cup is still worth a go IMO since it's such a money spinner and at most is only going to be 5-6 extra games. The JPT and League cup should just be fringe players and youngsters, no point going for them next season when we've got the league as a priority.

Don't need to. We'll have a squad with enough quality to get automatic promotion, win the JPT and have good cup runs.

If we can do all that there's no point giving any game a 'wide berth'. It's also insulting to the paying fans.

We wont qualify next season, what with being in the championship and that!!!!

Looked like there where even less than that to me, guess most fans have an eye on Wembley and the expensive day out.

i thought our support was poor, about 900 there the majority of which seemed content to sit there in silence. The same can be said for Norwich who despite good numbers were like a library.

Excellent performance + result, disappointed i forgot to try one of the pies.

Puncheon was MOTM. Hammond also made a big difference. Excellent all round performance - well done lads.

Agree that Puncheon was MOTM but just ahead of the very impressive Fonte !

Outstanding result and excellent attitude from our boys to go there, take them on and win it - And pretty comfortably too.
