Arizona Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 I thought this was going to be a thread about Patrick signing for them. Working now it seems.
Ponty Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 There's a reasonably strong rumour going around of a merge with Campos. Apparently USF1 have the money and Campos have the car but neither have the full package. I've no idea if there's any substance to the rumour though.
Pancake Posted 25 February, 2010 Author Posted 25 February, 2010 5Live Twitter saying there is a rumour USF1 might merge with another team. So you might be right Ponty, bearing in mind the Lopez deal.
Arizona Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 USF1 have applied to the FIA to have their entry defered until 2011. Stefan GP are apparently trying to take their slot using Toyota Chassis'.

SGP seem likely to get it too, according to Bernie. I don't see why though... Other teams had to go through the FIA selection process, agree to use Cossie engines and all that sh*t, and SGP appear to just be bullying their way onto the grid by simply turning up.
Arizona Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 With 11 days until kick off, is there really any other option? Bernie will want a full grid and I'm guessing teams like Aston Martin, Litespeed etc wont have anything even close to a competitive package.
Ponty Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 Yeah, the other option is to stick with what we have got. Doesn't it seem unfair that Lola, Prodrive, etc. had to go through a selection process and Stefan GP just turn up regardless?

No, not fair really, but I guess it's the best option given the short time frame. If there is anyone to be annoyed about really, then it's USF1. Stringing everyone along, then 2 weeks before the season going, "er, yeah we're not within a year of being ready for F1".
Ponty Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 The best option is to go with the teams that are ready now, have passed the "entry exam" and have been ratified by the established teams. SGP is welcome to bid for entry next year, IMO. We already have more teams than garages at Monaco.
Saint in Paradise Posted 4 March, 2010 Posted 4 March, 2010 FIA say that Stefan will Not be allowed into F1 this year. http://nz.sports.yahoo.com/motorsport/news/article/-/6885692/usf1-2010-season
