Constant Moaning...

Maybe????? F u c k i n g maybe?

Tell you what Dibden. Why not troll through the archives and find all the posters who only say positive things you agree with, and invite them around to your house for a tea party and spend a couple of hours stroking each other?

Alright, don't get your panties in a twist. As per usual, the same old people have come on and the thread has descended into insults. Oh well I suppose it fits in beautifully with your raison d'être.

We just won away at the league leaders place after playing them off the park. A team who have lost only once there all season, almost 6 months ago, won 12 of their last 12 there. We ourselves are undefeated in the league this year, almost three months of matches etc etc.

But yet some are still looking for reasons to have a good old moan....

As for the whole "better league results" thing...In 2010 we have played 5 league games. 4 away and 1 at home. we have won our home game and got points from each of the other fixtures including wins. They are good results, deal with it and move on.

Sorry, but I cannot agree with everything you've said there.

A supporter/fan is a special kind of customer for the reasons you've stated (i.e. we can't easily walk away) and so the terms are not mutually exclusive. The simple fact is any club is run as a business - e.g. fiscal duties etc. and the fact is also that a football club needs revenue to operate. That revenue largely comes from its supporters/customers. The revenue decreases when an unsatisfactory product or service persists over a period of time.

Lowe failed to recognise what was primarily important to his customers and therefore lost the clubs supporters. You could say ML/NC have re-ignited the interest in the club from a 'sleeping pool' of customers who are now returning as supporters once again.

I rest my case, but see the connection now?

The trouble is, and I see that you are being sincere in your explanation, but, the answer is simple and can be summed up neatly with one word - recourse.

You state that the club is or rather 'was' run with fiscal duties, debatable now, but let's go with that anyway, and that the club 'needs' revenue to operate, again, disputable about the level of income required in order to operate, with us having a billionaire and all, but anyway, (would be interested to know if you still think we are a plc, or if you see SFC as a LTD company, sole trader, or what) taking that it is operating 'fiscally' and prudent and is running the football club as a business, question, is it a service or a product? Either way, we come back to my key word, recourse. If, as a 'customer' you are disatisfied with the product or service provided, what is your recourse? Because with most business which operate in this field of sports and leisure, yopu could, as a customer, complain to trading standards that the product or service was not satisfactory, and you could be entitled to your money back. As with most product and services companies, they would be charged under some section of the 'Sales of Goods Act'. Which part of the Sales of Goods Act, would you as a customer, bring to the attention of the owner, in order for him to redeem your expenses, I guess you would mean ticket purchase here?

At the end of the day, there would be no recourse to the everall product, The Team. The team is who we come to support. The facilities provided are covered under health and safety and the various league standards, but, there is no recourse, as a customer, against the product or service (football team), not performing. Sure, as you said, you can stop coming to the games, but then you are still a fan, just not aregular supporter that attends games (had this dispute with GM when I also stopped attending under Lowe, I was still a fan). Whether you consider yourself as a customer or not, is your privelege, but for me, if someone abroad asked me which team I suppported, I would proudly tell them the Saints (and then explain, no not the New Orleans Saints), but, if someone abroad asked me, "who are you a customer of?", I would look at them rather strangely and walk away.

I am not a customer of Southampton FC, I am a supporter and a fan. I pay my money to the club and hope that they spend it wisely, but that's all it is, a hope. Just liek any other club, however small, they all need money to survive, the tennis club, the conservative club, the cub scouts, your Sunday pub team, the reason for this, tends to be the ending of the title - Southampton Football CLUB. See the connection now?

Read back through the thread and see where the first insult was thrown.

Do keep up Dibden.

As one of the "same old people", I agreed with you and have not insulted anyone.

To be fair Alpine, I wasn't including you in the same old people as you seem to have mellowed quite a bit. Maybe it was having the sprogg!

The rest of you know why you do it, it's symptomatic of the way you people are.

There are insults and rants, untempered emotional outburst and whinges and moans, but there is also reasoned debate. The first few appears in any open forum and can best be ignored. But no owner deserves reasoned debate to be curtailed. I can't help but thinking that both ML and NC would be concerned if they thought that we no longer expressed our opinions in deference to them.

Wouldn't it be nice if Mr Cortese could find it in his heart to say something complimentary about our recent form?

it is not his place to say such.

He is (imho) correctly staying well out of the limelight. Pardew and the lads can speak it. The bean counter extra-ordinaire knows his place...

It is good, and long may it continue, that our Exec Chairman does not comment on the performance on the air-waves of an individual game...

Agree?..

Completely. His comments a few weeks back were about form, and it seems to have had the desired effect.

We should be grateful

Funny that as we lost 4-1 at home soon after his ill judged public comments! Also as we had not been beaten this year before his ill judged public comments.

Cortese is not a football man as Lowe wasn't. Let Pardew do his job and keep off his back. He knows what he is doing.

Utter, utter tripe from you as usual.

Everyone who went to the cup game says we were the better team and the result was flattering them. And they were a Premiership team, a fact you conveniently left out of your pathetic little sneer.

Cortese might not be a football man, but he has more feel about football, man-management and delivering product to his customers in his bell-end than Lowe has in his entire waste-of-space body. He lifted the veil and commented, and now the team is unstoppable.

Deal with it. Your Messiahs (Lowe and Burley) are losers and are GONE.

I'm sorry, but is anyone else ****ed off at what seems to be a culture of sniping at NC and ML's intentions for the club. We've already got a complaint about a new kit, which I am sure they thought would be an idea that the fans would love. We've had people complaining about the fact that The Echo got their fingers burnt because they were playing with fire, and also the fact that it may seem to us (outside the confines of knowing the financial status of them) that a few transfers were the cheap options.

We owe these guys our club. They are investing heavily, yet it seems all people can do is ***** and complain. Seriously guys, wind yer ****ing neck in and realise how lucky we have been. Not everyone is going to like EVERY decision. If you don't like a decision, suck it up, don't throw your toys out the pram. They are doing a bloody good job so far, and I really hope they don't come on here too much, because if they did they must think we're such ungrateful *****s.

Anyway, rant over.

Agree with this 100%.

I assume people are trying to draw irony from the fact that I started a thread 32 months ago about people complaining about the stewardship of the club. This is completely different to me complaining about one of the worst ever starts in Premier League history. Surely even some of you guys understand this?

It is completely different. Why people were moaning back then I have no idea, but I guess it shows that there are always moaners no matter how well the club is doing on the pitch.

When I found the thread I did laugh - not least because so many of the contributors are now banned!

Probably not after today. The lad Dig Dig has ruined DPS. Feel a bit sorry for him but that's what happens when you put strong opinions in the public domain.

DPS is a decent poster who perhaps has realised he was guilty of a few knee jerk reactions. His life on the mongboard will continue and hopefully our good form does - that's the main thing - we are all glad he was wrong ultimately because it means we have started picking up some points.

Fed up with it ? Have been since 2004. Not content with nearly seeing the club go bankrupt after their antics in 2004 they have been constantly undermining the club and trying to silence me from shining a light at their own part in the 2004 debacle.

Still, they failed to re-write history or indeed erase it and you can rest assured i will never let them forget.

For me his time is up.

Out of his depth

Should be game over.

Nicola, you need to make the decision to sack Adkins, and do it now.

there is nothing he can do about our defence, and how bad they are.

I would take Redknapp

I can't believe that Adkins is such a fanny

the buck has to stop with the Manager
