Now I dont mean to get on his back or anything, but for...well since he came back from his arm injury he has been a shadow of his younger self. Never looks to take on his man, always seems to want to play the back back then spin off his man to get round the back but doesn't have the first touch to get it under control at the moment.

I would have said last year he was 10x the player of Aaron Lennon, and his hat-trick against Croatia was class. This season, I cant see how he can justify getting picked for Arsenal and is so far off getting anywhere near the World Cup. Hope he can get things sorted out and get back to his best soon.

Sorry Theo :(

I think he needs to leave Arsenal

He needs to play every week at a club where there's less pressure & he can relax

When I watch him play right now, he looks no better than when he left Saints

of course he does...even when he os off form he looks better than he did for saints against the likes of millwall..

even players like john parkin look good against millwall and brett ohmygod

Just ran 60 yards and won a corner for the Arse.

That was an awesome run.

What I don't understand is his positioning. Always seems to end up loitering in the middle where he's pretty useless as a target, even when he's notionally a winger. Dunno if that's what Wenger wants or not?

I think he's been nullified. He appears to have had what natural flair he did have coached out of him in order to fit him in with Arsenal's style of play which appears to be playing 4 central midfielders across midfield in Song, Diaby, Fabregas and Denilson. I think Wenger needs to persevere with him up front. Get him playing on the shoulder of the last defender and he will create chances for himself all day long.

He's looked a shadow of himself this year, he is not taking people on always looking for the simple pass back or sideways. Arsenal are not working for him, he needs to move on & try bulking up putting a bit of muscle on, he is far to soft & easy to knock off the ball. He needs a season of full 90-mins week in week out, & given the freedom to use his pace to take people on.

If he had of stayed at Saints for another season or two then he would have been much better prepared and have a better understanding of how to manipulate defenders who just brush him aside. He was never world class when he was at Saints, just a huge talent with lots of potential. I firmly believe that he would be a better player now than if he had stayed and moved later.

He has shown glimpses of his huge talent but it's not being nurtured correctly at Arsenal, I have no idea why as you'd assume that they would have the coaching staff there to make him a better player than he is at the moment.

I think his career has plateaued at Arsenal, I concede his injuries have not helped but I still think that he seems like he has run into a cul-de-sac and can't find a way out, he just seems lost and in need to a kick-start to his career again. I no longer expect anything of him, I fully expect him to lose the ball, fall over, tie himself in knots or just get brushed aside and yet I remember the buzz that the fans got, both at Arsenal and at Saints whenever he had the ball, all that excitement and buzz has now dissipated and the fans seem to to think that he's unlikely to do anything brilliant with it anymore too.

Maybe it's a short term blip[not one of those short term blips ;-)], a real blip that will last a short time and then he'll find himself again, if he doesn't by the end of this season then he needs to move to somewhere that will play him week in and week out.
