SAFE_SAINT Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Won't happen and wouldn't want it to happen. Complete joke if you ask me. If you lose in a stright knockout competition then you are out. End of
Window Cleaner Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Hmm, I am undecided and think we have the capacity for both. If we can get two/three goals up in a game, then you blood the youngsters. This is what Australia have done so well for year and years in cricket - bring the kids in against Bangladesh and let them ease in with confidence around them. We will learn nothing being beaten that's for sure! What youngsters ?? Those that are good enough are playing in the team every week, Morgan,Lallana,Antonio and James, younger than those there can't be many candidates.
Andover_Saint07 Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Doesn't make sense Pompey are in Court Weds, to submit a Financial Statement They then return to Court in March to defend the winding up petition from HM Govt By then, the NEXT round of the FA Cup will have taken place So Saints will NOT be in the FA Cup by default:D:cool: March 6th is poopeys next FA CUP game so no it wont have past
saintjay77 Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 March 6th is poopeys next FA CUP game so no it wont have past I have given up replying to him. He talks in Facts that are only Fact in his world. and then adds lots of stupid smiley thingys to make his point that much more viable. :raiseyeyesyemoteythingy:
Matthew Le God Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Won't happen and wouldn't want it to happen. Complete joke if you ask me. If you lose in a stright knockout competition then you are out. End of Different reason as it wasn't due to a team going out of business but still they lost. Using your logic they wouldn't have been reinstated. http://sport.scotsman.com/dunfermlinefc/Dunfermline-ejected-from-Scottish-Cup.5984442.jp

saintjay77 Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Give up replying to who? i dont post much at all so surely you dont mean me? just stating a fact to the poster i commented on.... that would be the same poster I was on about. not you. sometimes its not worth pointing the obvious out to him.
Legod Third Coming Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 What youngsters ?? Those that are good enough are playing in the team every week, Morgan,Lallana,Antonio and James, younger than those there can't be many candidates. I meant newbies, apols. Better to bring them into a winning team high on confidence was my point.
Andover_Saint07 Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 that would be the same poster I was on about. not you. sometimes its not worth pointing the obvious out to him. Ah i see okies have it noted ..
Professor Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 I suppose if you eliminate Portsmouth's results from the competition, Sunderland and Saints would have to play for the right to play Brum City, but its hard to imagine either club wanting to do that. To put any team through after its lost a cup game undermines the whole concept of a knock-out competition, so its hard to believe that there is any truth in the suggestion that the FA would even consider it. Sounds more like a media hype by Coast radio, based on nothing at all.
krissyboy31 Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 (edited) I think that the only reason there would be a reinstatement (they wouldn't go back through the rounds) is if the FA decided that players like Quincy and O'Hara were signed in contravention of their rules (whilst insolvent) and therefore ineligible. Edited 17 February, 2010 by krissyboy31
dune Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 To be honest i could do without the expense of another FA cup game.
saintjay77 Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 I think that the only reason there would be a reinstatement (they wouldn't go back through the rounds) is if the FA decided that players like Quincy and O'Hara were signed in contravention of their rules (whilst insolvent) and therefore ineligible. I think it is possible that if Poopy are liquidated and it can be proved that they signed those players whilst insolvent then they were in effect inelligable. If thats the case then the FA may look to put us through if we like it or not. I dont think however that they will get canned before the next round as they will some how buy more time on the back of these supposed serious offers.
alehouseboys Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Saints, Sunderland and Cov in the hat, Uncle Trev pulls out the lucky ball, they face Brum. Only fair.
saintjay77 Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Just posted this on another thread but thought it might be worth going here too. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_5957469,00.html My previous view has been that if Poopy fold them brum should get a bye and we should stay out of it. If the FA agree to let them sell players that played in the FA cup win against us I think we should argue that they cheated and we should be put through. So many possabilitys make my own opinion change every time poopy screw something else up.
Denzil Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Listening to the Coast radio this morning and they said the FA is considering putting Saints through to the next round of the FA cup if Pompey goes under. What do others think about this? I would p1ss myself laughing if they did.
saint-luco Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Bigger surprises have happened in this world so why not ...... After the excitement of Saturday, it's all a bit of an anti-climax and as we lost 4-1, it doesn't feel right.................. well as the saints defence has still got half of thr popry team in their pockets i cant seewhy not more to the point has dindane managed to get out of hardings pocket yet????
