A FamiliarFace playing against us next week at Wycombe

I seem to remember his first game being awful. But he got better, and in the end, I thought He and Dailly were a pretty good partnership. Shame they couldn't stay together. Here's a snip:

What utter ********, i'm still in therapy after watching Calum 'Mr. Fifty-Pence Head' Davenport.

4-1 to the mighty palace that was a RUBBISH day lol. He improved dramaticly as time went on however, if I remember rightly we were sorry to see him go when xmas came around.

But he really can't be all that good, otherwise he'd be a regular at Brentford who aren't all that good either. Dailly probably made him look a lot better than he actually is.

Lots seem to say he was rubbish in the Palace game and then improved a lot. I didn't see the improvement. He was rubbish throughout his time at Saints.

Hence why at the peak age for a footballer of 28 he is a Brentford player on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.

I haven't clicked the link but I am assuming this is Alan Bennett.

He was abysmal at the start (not aided by Makin alongside him) and improved to arguably only a bit crap. Anyone who thinks he was "good" is a raving lunatic.

I could never understand why Davenport was poor for us, he was immense at Coventry and had all the makings of a real top-class centre half.

Probably didn't help that he was playing alongside Jakobsson, who, for me, was one of the worst centre halves I have seen at Saints

Ah, Davenport, Olivier Bernard never to be found in his left back position and Mr 20 minutes, Jamie Redknapp. There's a book there somewhere.

Add to that Jakobsson who had the turning circle of an oil tanker and Mikhael Nillsonn who had all the urgency of a comatosed slug !

Painful days indeed !

And they cost money too

Although Nillson has had a long international career he was particularly bad in The european championships before joining us.

He was dire against Palace but he was awesome away at Cov the same season.

Was sad to see him go, he had a lot of potential but was a bit erratic.

He clearly isn't any good. Was rubbish here even beyond the Palace game. Now he should be at his peak at 28 years old and is a Brentford player on loan to Wycombe.

Didn't play that much alongside Jakobsson. Was brought in to replace him and would have played most of his games with Lundekvam (who was woeful that season).

As I said his performance at Coventry was one of the best centre back performances I had seen in a long while!

A key aspect in any wannabee Cb has to be consistency, he had none.
