JRM Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 I would be interested to hear a bit more justification from the ticket office for the booking fees being applied. As tickets are being sold through the club the booking fee must be going into our income I presume. How much of the ticket revenue do the club get? I presume a fair chunk of it goes to the Football League, which in turn pays for Wembley. This is the Carlisle ticket off wembley map showing the exact blocks that they have been allocated - http://www.carlisleunited.co.uk/staticFiles/87/49/0,,10361~149895,00.pdf
Block 5 Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Speak as you find I suppose but I have always found the ticket office and David Luker to be very helpful and quick to react when there is a problem. I suspect "issues" around booking fees and travel are because we are now being run as a proper business....we have to fund the players we buy somehow. I agree. I have had cause to email David Luker on more than one occasion and he has always responded promptly. He has always dealt with my problem immediately and satisfactorily. He has even phoned me from his car, whilst stuck in traffic, to respond to an email I had sent 5 minutes previously. That is superb customer service. For the last few seasons our ticket office has had the resources to cope with average attendances of well under 20,000, in the last 2 months they have had to deal with three games of around 30,000 AND a Wembley final of 44,000. Have some patience FFS.

Have some patience FFS. The ticket office staff aren't the problem. The problem is the management decisions and it's going to get worse. The better Saints do the more we'll have to jump through hoops to get tickets. I had hoped that the bonkers idea of pre-registering interest in tickets was a thing of the past, but No, it was trotted out again for Exeter away. The result was unsold tickets out of a tiny allocation. When we last played Pompey at Fratton Park we nearly didn't sell our allocation because of it! Having to write to the club to say you're interested in a ticket is completely idiotic.
JRM Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 It is not the speed of service i object to, it is the stange ticket selling arrangements they come up with. The best investment the ticket off could make would be a proper online package, no more applying by post for popular away games, plus buying home tickets should be able to click on a block and select your seats like other clubs have. I think we will sell all our tickets for Wembley, but there will be loads left on general sale while people wait to buy them together with friends and family, in person at the ticket office, with no booking fee.
dune Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 When we get back to the Premier League there will be guarenteed sales on away tickets but if Lukers "baby" (pre-registration) is trotted out you all know what's going to happen. Given our improved away following we should be taking more to away games than ever before, but you can bet your bottom dollar that our ticket office will **** that up.

The9 Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 I think you are wrong... I could have sold my +1 to probably about 30 people I know. Then again I am from a Saints supporting friendship group so it might not be the same for everyone, but I can guarantee there will be no problem in people being able to find someone to have their +1 Because I'm not from the area, every single person I know in Southampton is through football, and I assure you that not each of them has a non-intersecting group of people which operates completely independent of others. A quick look at mutual friends on Facebook confirms that. You might be able to shift your ticket 30 times but there's no guarantee that each of those people hasn't got other people also prepared to give them tickets.
dune Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 I don't see the problem with asking people to do slightly inconvenient things in order to ensure that the people who get tickets are the ones who deserve them. We're hardly Manchester United! The FACT is that writing to the club, putting said letter in an envelope, putting a stamp on the envelope, walking to a post box and posting it IS A PAIN IN THE ARSE. Just to pre-reister an interest in a ticket that you may or may not get. What it will mean in the future is that we will take smaller allocations at away games if the ticket office base the allocation they take on this. Many many people cannot be bothered with this crackpot scheme - just look at Exeter away this season!
dune Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 We don't make any money on away tickets do we? A larger away following means more support for the team. It's reasonable to assume that more support will equate to more points being picked up on the road. Therefore the more fans we take the more money the club can make in terms of our final league placing.

I think the online system should be able to recognise how many away game people have been to and allocate tickets on that basis. My policy would be: a) put the tickets on sale well in advance, recently they have been going on sale far to close to the game which does not allow time for staged sales. b) - where the allocation is limited on sale day 1 to people who have been to 6 + aways - day 2 to fans who have done 3 + - day 3 to season ticket holders - day 6 general sale up to day of game. allows plenty of time to sell and no need to pre-register or send off a letter.

I don't really see the point. We've been taking decent allocations to most away games this season but always been **** easy to get a ticket. Exeter took a bit of effort but everyone who applied got a ticket in the end.

I agree it is easy. you could pay on the day for virtually all of our away games this year.
Saints foreva Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 So can someone just clear something up for me.. Next week I won't be able to take my season ticket to the ticket office and get my tickets, I have to buy them online or over the phone meaning I can't sit with my mate who is also a season ticket holder?

The FACT is that writing to the club, putting said letter in an envelope, putting a stamp on the envelope, walking to a post box and posting it IS A PAIN IN THE ARSE. In the olden days (before the late 1990s) the above was only method of written communication. You've never had it so good. Youth is wasted on the young. Etc etc etc......

As long as you have both season ticket numbers you can buy them together. I've 5 linked to my account so we are always sat together.

The9 Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 (edited) A larger away following means more support for the team. It's reasonable to assume that more support will equate to more points being picked up on the road. Therefore the more fans we take the more money the club can make in terms of our final league placing. Except by definition if the number of fans equates to the likelihood of winning then an away team will only win if they have more fans than the home team, so this isn't much of an argument. Middlesbrough A in the relegation season, few fans, won. Blackburn, few weeks later, shedloads of fans, balloons, noise, nothing. And we scored more goals against Watford in the Lge Cup 5-2 thrashing when most of our fans were cheering Watford after we went 4-0 down. There's no correlation whatsoever, it's just a load of cobblers made up to support a weak argument. Edited 19 February, 2010 by The9
ianthesaint Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I'd rather Saints and Carlisle got 15,000 each, rest of ground shut. Part time mongs wouldnt be in site. If so tickets available for £150 each.

If so tickets available for £150 each. Oh dear, go back to what you were doing earlier, and dont forget the tissues. I shan't be there as I'm saving up for the play off finals, but you should welcome new or occasional fans. Not sure you're intelligent enough to notice, but full grounds make watching any game far more involving and interesting.

If so tickets available for £150 each. I hope that if they did this you WOULDN'T get a ticket! HTH (Being one of the part time mongs, that can only get to a dozen home games and 3 or 4 away games a season, despite being an ex season ticket holder for over 30 years).
Guy Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I think there should be a random draw for tickets. Then Saints would stand a greater chance of winning if only 'lucky' fans were in attendance Edit: Spelling.
Nexstar Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I need to get 7 tickets from 4 different season tickets, how easy is this to do online?
mitch37 Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Any body got any idea if I will be able to buy multible tickets over the telephone tomorrow??? ie all season ticket holders but just me purchasing a group booking and using theirs and mines season ticket numbers
converted_saint Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Help! Having not been on here for a couple of weeks could someone tell me if there's been a general consensus about where the standing/singing section is? I haven't got the time to trawl through 6 pages of posts just to find the one snippet of info that I want! Cheers!

LGTL Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 It can be done online. Just find out the customer numbers and link them.
Paul Chuckle Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Does anyone know if you'll be able to get the tickets online at midnight as save me doing it at work 2morrow
Justbelieve Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Do the on line tickets go on sale at 1 minute past midnight on Sunday or do we have to wait until the box office opens as normal?

I haven't got the time to trawl through 6 pages of posts just to find the one snippet of info that I want! Cheers! I believe its roughly blocks 131- 136.
ohwhenthesaints Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Apologies if I am repeating a question here but has anybody worked out how there are multiple prices for some blocks? For example, I'm interested in blocks 124-127 which on the diagram have £34 and £44 tickets clearly marked. But on the list of available block prices on the Saints site there are also £24 tickets available in that block. Any ideas?
saintalan Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Some suggest cheapest at front and others say cheapest near goal line. Could be a combo of both but cant see it!! I am waiting with baited breath to see if the online boking is as complex/impossible for buying Linked friends whose STs were not purchased at the same time as I had with Cup Matches.
debbiemc Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I've just tried to register, and am being told that there is already a customer with my details. Obviously not me, as I have never bought tickets on line before. I've e-mailed the ticket office but it's a bit worrying. I've got to try to buy for nine other people as well!
Rebel Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 the ticket prices on the list of blocks on the OS contradict those on the seating plan and the list of categories! I am confused! And why can't people buy tickets online in Period 2!?! It doesn't make any sense!
kenneth_kenobi Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Any season ticket holders not going who could get me some tickets? I am a lifetime fan living in Australia who always goes to games when 'home', and actually arrive a couple of days before the game, but this time it is harder than usual to get tickets. If you can it would be great - let me know an email address or I will give you mine. Cheers - Ken
Jimmy_D Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 OK, is it just me the Online Ticket System is going really slow for?

Tractor_Saint Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Is there anyone ITK who knows when we can expect the tickets to land on our doorsteps? Choosing blocks 140-144 gives a large area to choose from and I'm hoping they fill up 144 first then 143 etc.... I'm wondering whether I should call the ticket office this afternoon to see if I can get my online booking a little more nailed down on the block...
supersonic Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Grrr been trying to phone the ticket office now for an hour and 15 mins constant, I have 2 phones and a laptop trying to book tickets, no luck so far

krissyboy31 Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Don't know whether it's been mentioned before but there are some FAQ's answered on the OS. Not that it says much but might help a few. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1969536,00.html
Barry the Badger Posted 22 February, 2010 Posted 22 February, 2010 Sounds great, but I take it thats your assumption. Unfortunately our ticket office dont know what the split prices represent in a single block.I've phoned 3 times and had 3 different answers. 1. The prices decrease the further away from the halfway line you go! (What in a single block FFS) 2. The £24 is for wheelchair access tickets!! 3. I dont know and I am dreading Monday!!! For some,it might all seem trivial, but to a lot of us its important. The view or location you get could be a key thing. How much do you make a cheque out for, when you dont know what youre going to be buying.Sorry, but I'm getting wound up by the whole thing better chill a bit! In block 132-135 I was told £24 was right down at the front and £34 was further back.
