Official: 44,000 tickets for Wembley then...

Are they saying that you can't choose a block, but only a price? That's how it reads to me. The same price tickets could be on 3 different sides of the ground and at different heights in the stadium as well. Seems a bit like pot luck.

No, if you read the article correctly, there is a massive choice as to where you sit. Just they can't guarantee an exact block, but they've divided it into so many sections that you can pick out quite a specific area that you want to sit, looks a good, fair system to me.

how come you couldn't get to Milton Keynes for 1st leg thats only 30- 40 miles from Coventry ?

I couldn't get to the 1st leg in Milton Keynes as I go to University in Worcester, that is another 40 odd miles from Coventry and didn't finish until 5.30pm. So with the early 7pm KO there was no way to get to the game in time, as I don't drive so have to rely on the train services aswell, I have been to both the other local games this season against Walsall and Northampton though.

Update on OS about pricing and FAQ's

I see they have changed the price of blocks 232-238.

The Plan says they are Cat2 (£44), but the Block price says they are £58.

I assume that the seats at the back of Blocks 132-135 are the higher price (higher up therefore better view) and the ones at pitch level are the cheaper ones ?

Equally it would have been nice to say how the Blocks 124-127 are split into 3 prices, ? front (pitch level ?), middle, back (under level2 ?) ??

Posted
That clarifies things a bit but opens another question : can you only buy tickets out of a pre ordained cluster of blocks, i.e choose a to sit in area 132 - 135 or 136 - 139 for e.g?

Also to the person who wrote the article it's YOU'RE not YOUR.

Correct. Think they've given us a really wide choice though to be fair, can narrow down your choice to quite a specific area. It would be impossible for them to let 44,000 choose their individual blocks, back or front etc!

Bought tickets for the mk dons and my mrs wanted to put us on the data base but the woman who served her said you do not need to so now I've been pushed back to general sale....total crapp

Ditto. Tried to give my customer number when I got mine for MKD and they were not interested. I have my ticket stub, has anyone asked if this will suffice (provided you are on the database)? I will email David Luker if not

Sorry if I've missed this somewhere. So if I go for blocks 132-135, whats the difference between the £24 and £34 tickets? Are the £24 right at the front?

I think that is the case. If you at the stadium plan the lowest level i.e. nearest the pitch is split into three sections and that is why there are three price bands:

£24 low section nearest the pitch

£34 mid section

£44 upper section

Upper section for me.

Segregation ? Is this really such a big issue. Can't see that many probs with us and Carlisle- in fact should be very friendly atmosphere.

Surely in everyone's interest to sell as many tickets as possible.

Agree with you 100%, I can't for the life of me work out what all the fuss is about and why 25k seats have to be empty.

If needs be, even if Saints/Carlisle were in the same blocks here and there, would it really be the end of the world?

None at all IMO. Let's face it the clubs don't have a 'history' and the JPT is more of a carnival type atmosphere. I am sure the supporters would mix perfectly well.

Never bought tickets online before so have tried to register my ST today, So that next week there is no messing around, Only to be defeated by the system saying that my customer number and email are already registered, like i say never bought online before.

I can understand the ticket office not wanting 12,000 ST holders turning up at their windows but i reckon there are going to be a lot of P*ssed off season ticket holders next week ,when they can't get tickets online. I have been trying to ring the ticket office all afternoon but apparently everyone is busy and it rings off !!.

Our group of ST holders want 11 tickets and i don't see why i should pay an extra £30 just for the privellige of using the telephone system and the postal system seems a bit of a lottery

I appreciate that there has already been a thread on the same thing before the pompey game ,so you would have thought if they knew they had a problem they would have sorted it, before selling tickets in this way for such an important match. I guess though its no surprise with the bad joke that is the SFC ticket office.

I agree it is a joke, it almost seems like they have purposely made it difficult to go through the process of buying tickets, and for this reason i bet there will be loads left when they go on general sale on the 15th and people will just go down there any buy tickets then

Posted

I just find the whole thing confusing.

I suppose the easiest way is phoning and talking to someone, but for me that would cost £12 for the privelige.

Postal for me and put my trust in someone being bothered to find me my best choice.

I phoned Wembley to get clarification on the 3 different prices in same block query and they told me to contact my club!

I did this and no one at Saints really understands the price structure.A ticket office girl told me that we are advertising some blocks that we shouldnt be selling.SW corner is one of those,as there is confusion over the shade of green on the map!

Any season ticket holders who are worried about getting tickets are getting their knickers in a twist over nothing, bearing in mind we don't have 22,000 season ticket holders, you're all guaranteed two tickets, no matter what time you purchase them next week.

Chill people.

However you buy your tickets I understnand that you will be chrged £3 per ticket handling charge. Don't think postal will be helping you avoid this. Could be wrong ?

£3 per ticket telephone, £3 per BOOKING online and Postal - fine if your only buying one ticket expensive if you buying multiple.

If you bought the ticket by credit or debit card that has been used previously they can search the database and link the ticket back to your customer number. So you can apply in the second phase.

Email the club and they will reset your customer password, you were using your customer number as your login, when you get in go to my account and pick your ticket from there.

i have found out since i bought the MK tickets i am still on the data base from my old address so i went down to link them today and they said even tho it was thier mistake they can not now link them....this has ****ed me right off as it was them who advised it was ok just to keep the stubs....so if there is only a few thousand for general sell i will have to take a day off work to get a ticket

Thanks I was going to pop down there tomorrow and sort it , according to the earlier thread that I mentioned it seems that the ticket office aren't very good at answering emails and I've already discovered that they are not very good at answering a telephone either !!

Well, it sounds like our ticket office is not geared up to selling double the normal amount of tickets. Although I can't make it over from Italy due to cost reasons I'm at least pleased there are so many people scrabbling for tickets, and it's not even the FA cup! I suppose I might have to be fairly on the ball for the play-offs...

Trying to sort my online ticket account out ready for Monday and to save on fees.

When selecting seats for a game I get the "Customer" drop down box next to each seat but there is nothing at all in the drop down, not even my own customer number. I'm not linked to any other accounts so just wanted to check if this box is only meant to contain linked customer numbers. Don't want to get to next week and find the system won't seel because I can't make it aware I have an ST.

I have tried emailing the club ticket office email address to get my online account set up but still not had a reply, does anyone have a direct contact at the club who can get this done?

email address or phone

When I set mine up I phoned the 0800 number and got them to connect me to the people who did it.

Dead easy.

Mine doesn't show my number when I buy, you just leave it blank to have it recognise your number (which shouldn't be on the list), and as you suggest, the dropdown is only for others.

Seems pretty bloody straightforward to me.

I am speaking from experience of what I know. We have 14 season ticket holders in our group and an swamped with people trying to get our extra ticket.

Trust me... the "+1's" of season ticket holders will go pretty quickly, and when you add the sponsors and corporates into the equation, it's safe to say that only a couple of thousand tickets will reach general sale.

Its true that lots of STs will take up the +1s, what's not true is that they will be able to get rid of them easily.

Up to 12500 ST +1s will be floating around, many of whom will have bought without a clue who they're going to give it to - and a load of people who want a ticket might have asked 4 or 5 ST holders for it, so there will be a load of +1 tickets that ST holders think they have a taker for, but that taker has got a ticket from someone else already.

Basically what will happen is a large scale ticket exchange of +1s where people have been let down - and if tickets are on general as well, it might be the case that people go that route instead of getting an offer from someone they might barely know.

There will be shedloads of spares requests and offers on here to prove this anyway, probably more than for any other game.

Thanks a lot for this.

I think you are wrong... I could have sold my +1 to probably about 30 people I know. Then again I am from a Saints supporting friendship group so it might not be the same for everyone, but I can guarantee there will be no problem in people being able to find someone to have their +1

I agree. We had takers for our five +1's before the MK 2nd leg.

The bottom line is that with that number of tickets there will be no trouble at all for anyone who is wanting a ticket to Wembley to get one. Anyone who thinks there will be is over-estimating the size of our fanbase.

Just delivered my postal application by hand to the ticket office, acepted, checked and put in a wire basket marked phase 1.

Just a thought, i have just typed up mine and 3 others tickets requests, anyone know if they will accept e-mail attachments.I know, i'm a lazy bugger.

Sounds great, but I take it thats your assumption.

Unfortunately our ticket office dont know what the split prices represent in a single block.I've phoned 3 times and had 3 different answers.

1. The prices decrease the further away from the halfway line you go!

(What in a single block FFS)

2. The £24 is for wheelchair access tickets!!

3. I dont know and I am dreading Monday!!!

For some,it might all seem trivial, but to a lot of us its important.

The view or location you get could be a key thing.

How much do you make a cheque out for, when you dont know what youre going to be buying.Sorry, but I'm getting wound up by the whole thing better chill a bit!

tickets went on sale to Carlisle fans today, spoke to my mate who went down there, had to queue for one hour, bought 9 tickets per season ticket holder WITH NO BOOKING FEE, all sorted.

Posted

I must admit I'm getting rather nervous as to whether there'll be any tickets left for General Sale having read through this thread. I could purchase mine in the second period, my son's in the third period but as my Dad isn't on the database we'll have to wait until 15th March before I can make my move! On top of that I live up north so cannot queue up on the day. On top of that top of that I'm banned about talking about the JPT Final in the house as I've gone on and on about it! Squeaky bum time.

The booking fee is a complete joke, but the sort of thing i've come to expect from David Luker. SFC's ticket office used to be good during the Dell days, but since Lukers arrival from Reading there's been a catalogue of c o c k ups and bonkers ideas.

I just assumed the ticket bookings were ultimately going through Ticketmaster hence the booking fee. Having just read it doesn't apply to Carlisle is a surprise as Saints have to now been pulling out all the stops for the fans. With the 'Travel Club' also hiking their prices (I understand it's expensive to park a coach at Wembley but...) it does seem to be taking the piiss a little bit. They're gonna a make a fair wedge from merchandise alone for this one-off game!

It does seem that a decision has been made to start hiking prices. I'd like to know if this is a decision from the top, or a decision from David Luker.

Price rises coupled with spaggy ticket selling methods (pre-registration, multiple purchase windows etc) could well put a lot of fans off.

Speak as you find I suppose but I have always found the ticket office and David Luker to be very helpful and quick to react when there is a problem.

I suspect "issues" around booking fees and travel are because we are now being run as a proper business....we have to fund the players we buy somehow.
