EFM Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 Agreed. What a rubbish chant. Other than that I thought the Chapel were awesome yesterday I've just a first chance to read this thread pal but thought you were completely spot on. I'm usually a Northamer or Itchener but ended up in the Chapel corner. The atmosphere and noise there was nothing like I've known from it. Every song that started at the Northam/Kingsland corner or the Itchen was taken straight on by the good folk down the Chapel in big numbers. It was an unexpected pleasure. Drowned out the f'ckers nearly all the time with real venom and hate - just as it should be when we play them. Even the result wasn't the end of the world because, one it was rididulously unlucky. and two they are still drowning whilst we keep afloat on a cruise to way above they will end up. Life is still sweet. Wish I had been in the afters though but the walk from Chapel corner was mainly blocked off by horses and horse ****.
100%Red&White Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 Well even the Skates thought we were loud... >>>I was there yesterday, and must give those scummers some credit, they were very vocal and loud. however made a schoolboy error.... whenever we sang a song, they would chime in with their own version of the same song. Thus making it sound like us singing all along http://thepompeychimes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55390 Geeez! the skates were so quiet because they got drowned out by been outsung by SAINTS from the left and right of them. I have got to say till they scored their 3rd, that was the quietest away support for 4,000 seen down at SMS. We rocked the place on Saturday. Well done everyone! Itchen North. Welcome back! Unfortunately just proves some of our fans aren't the brightest, should've stuck with "f*ck off p". Still think the league cup match atmos against the blue-few was better - more edgy/spiteful. The9 Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 I'm hard pressed to think of a game where every section of the ground sung, shouted, screamed like that for a match. Norwich in the EPL and Wolves in the cup are up there but that was awesome yesterday. The noise when we scored was deafening. Norwich in the Prem (and to a slightly lesser extent in the JPT!!), much much louder than yesterday. Pahars' goal against them in 2003/4 was up there too. The9 Posted 15 February, 2010 Share Posted 15 February, 2010 the trouble was that the "pay up pompey" just come across on tv as the skates making a lot of noise Which we'd been saying for about a month before, even when they weren't there. Hence "wind up Pompey" or just the simple "fck off" would have been preferable. Hopefully the cash waving every time they did it was also captured onscreen.
