St Landrew Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 Watching the guys coming down a shortened course. The Whistler is still faster than the fastest of any of the other tracks, reaching their fastest speeds only halfway down, and still accelerating. It's quite compelling seeing them steer by shifting their bodies slightly, and moving their feet. Fastest speed I've seen was 148 kph [92 mph] and that's on a 200 metre shorter track.

It might be because it's a Sunday morning but I don't understand that bit, StL. By definition, if they're still accelerating then they haven't yet reached maximum speed.

Baj Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 tbf, I think what StL meant was that they reach the fastest "normal speeds for a luge run" only halfway down.
Arizona Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 That's generous, Baj. At least this bloke crashed by accident.
Ponty Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 At least this bloke crashed by accident. Careful now. Every punishment administered to individuals has been turned over thus far.
