OK, Leeds showed that it was possible, but it took an almighty effort from them to do it. I hoped we could follow suit but was not confident that we would. It was always going to take time to get what was effectively an entirely new team to find their rhythm and start performing, as our start to the season showed. After the sh1te that we have been put through over the last 5 years, I didn't expect things to turn around overnight.

I also didn't expect us to be getting to a Wembley final, so the fact that we have is a very welcome bonus IMO and should not be offered as an excuse to why we haven't set the league alight.

Just my humble opinion.

We started -10 nobody else did

BUT

We have spent millions & nobody else has.

Norwich have almost double our points........if you're NC are you happy about that?

Dont really care whether NC is happy.

The last two games have been great and after five years of despair things have improved greatly and we can hopefully look forward to good times next season and beating Torquay in the JPT again

probably not happy, but probably not happy that we started on -10 and the club was in total disarray.

probably happier with progress but could do better

Can't see why we are not in with a shout of the play off's?

Of our last 8 away games 4 are against teams currently in the bottom 5.

and we have a few of the play off contenders at home...

We need a run worthy of a team winning the title but why not?..no distractions now, one of the best squads..I reckon we will go close!

We will need to start this week against Norwich. Every week some of the top teams are playing each other. It would be nice to see a lot of draws but more important to me is the way we play. We have to lay down a marker for next season.

The team we have now might bear no resemblence to next years by the time the season begins.

What I want now is to see players playing well enough to earn a place in our team next season. As far as I am concerned the whole team is now on alert. Every last one of them is playing for their place in our title winning squad.

Thats the sentiment.

AP does not need an excuse

-10 and Administration is the reason we are not in the playoffs

Plus the fact we lost our best players from last season and AP had to build a team

Agreed, if we get anywhere near the playoffs I'll be pleased. Mind you it's still possible ;) :D

Our biggest problem lies with the manager, not the players. Pardew has to sort the midfield enigma out such we provide to the front, without leaving a hole and exposing the defence. Because of the cups we now have 2 games a week until the end of the season and that will impact. The chances of making the pay off's are very slim, even for a team in decent form. Of course we will give it maximum to get into those play off's, but the real question is, do we keep Pardew? The last two cup games give no indication, against a weak MK Dons where any sensible manager showed where his true priorities lay and a very poor premier side, showing how many light years we are off that standard.

I don't care whether Pardew comes or goes, that is down to Cortese. All I care about now is maximising our chances of an automatic spot next season. What I do not want to see is a comedy repeat of the same errors over and over. Going into the last month of this season, Pardew has to have shown he has what it takes for next season, otherwise it would be smart to have someone else lined up to give them the best crack at what lies ahead. It may make sense to keep Pardew if there are no stand out candidates, but he needs to do far more to ensure he stays.

It is not difficult, you should aim to get as high as you can every season. To reach the play offs now would mean teams above us dropping points which is unlikely.

I doubt very much if they sit around thinking, hmmm, let's take our foot of the gas and finish just above the relegation zone. If you don't go into every match trying to get something from the game there really is no point in bothering is there?

Every game is about getting a result and learning how to get results from the forthcoming games from the way you have been playing recently. This is true whether you are rooted to the bottom, flying high at the top or midtable.

You do your best and you finish where you finish.

We have lost one match this year, to a Premiership team. They might be poor by Premiership standards but they can afford to bring in quality players like O'Hara. Pardew has a tough job and very few managers turn teams round quickly. I'd be very surprsied if we weren't a better team this time next season.

Well that's one side of the coin. The other side is that we have drawn with Millwall, Brentford and Exeter, with our only league win coming against the effectively relegated Stockport. But that only tells half the story, we even struggled against Stockport until Pardew fought back his natural instincts and lucky against the rest. When a team like Exeter can have you praying for the whistle with time to go, gives a true reflection of how far you have come.

I think that picking up 9 points from 30 in our first 10 games was what killed us off more than the -10.

Overcoming -10 in 46 games was achievable if we'd have had a decent start.

4 points above the relegation places after 28 games is not what I would have expected by now.

We need to be picking up a lot more points even if playoffs are out of the frame.
