According to the Telegraph there was a pitch invasion during the game:

The bitter Southampton support, who had watched their team dominate a scoreless first half, invoked the spectre of the taxman to try and puncture the celebrations just as when, during the match, one of their number had leapt onto the pitch in full fake Sheikh regalia to taunt the away fans with a fistful of grubby fivers.

I must have been too busy concentrating on the match to have missed this.

Pitch invasion? He was right up in the hospitality section in the Itchen - quite near me. Funny as f**k :D

...and they were £20's!!

According to the police, more arrests may follow due to the Brittania Road incident:

http://www.hampshire.police.uk/Internet/news/releases/Update+on+Southampton+v+Portsmouth+FA+Cup+Policing+Operation.htm

From what I could see, they had a camera man on the upper-floors of the neighbouring flats to the garage filming everything and I'm sure they had a camera in the middle of it all. If I was one of thoe people who had smashed up a car in order to lob something at the skates, I would be setting my alarm for 5am the next couple of weeks...

Why are people who film things and put it on youtube **** heads??

If you smash something up you deserve to be arrested.

why didn't you get fatty wobbly gut hitting the deck, and his mate that cried holding his face after realising what he did was silly. :D

they looked for it and got what they deserved. if only it rolled on (pun intended) for 2 more minutes lol

I am sure I saw you round by the freeborn area after the game...

... I did see you and your gay twin in the Itchen when I was queuing for a beer. Do either of you know the definition of the word 'fashion' ?

fansonline mongs are gloating that fatty and his cry baby mate took the ****. Seeing them on youtube literally crying and standing there like statues would've been priceless. It was truly FAF. why would you do what they did, and then when confronted just stand still and take a hiding? Just shows how thick the inbreds are!!

Agreed - suppose it went something like this:

Reporter: sh*t gov, we're not allowed to take photos in the ground

Editor: Oh, Nicola is a real **** and it's so so unfair

Reporter: I could write a piece about Nicola and how he might be a lady boy?

Editor: Too dangerous.. how about you sit outside the ground during the game and listen to hear if you can report any banter between the crowds?

Reporter: Um, er, OK

Reporter (by mobile): Gov, it's flippen cold out here - we need a story

Editor: Tell you what, we're getting desperate now. Make up a story of violence after the match and take a few pics of police on horses and sh*t like that. Surely that'll sell a few papers?

Reporter: OK Gov, shall I throw a few coins as well?

There are some f ucking divs on this forum, aren't there.

Yeah, the evil old Echo made it all up.

I take it you were absolutely nowhere near Freeborn's garage at about quarter to three then.

YEs our fans did run through the garage. A stand of with about 200 saints fans and the pompey lot throwing stuff at each other. Was fun.

Yep.

And yes the car's were savaged and bits launched at the pompey fans, hub caps frizbee'd over at them!

I was in the crowd, safest place to be

Lol at the older blokes shouting 'stand your ground, what you running for?'.

Anyone who wouldn't run to get out of the way of those police horses galloping at them is a braver man than me and indeed an idiot.

And before you ask, I was just watching with interest, not actively involved.

It made me lol as well! Er, big ****ing horse coming at me with a bloke on it holding a massive stick. Bail

Them batons the mounted police had were fookin massive!!!

Yeh they are quite huge when the Police have them out and when we played Palace at Selhurst in the Championship when some of our drunken fans went a bit mental they nearly got on the pitch and the Police came over and started hitting us but I avoided it and got out the way as I didn't fancy getting hit Tbh and I don't fancy too ever ;)!

have i just gone back to the 70s, maybe its just me, but this sort of crap is so lower league mentality

my story, had a few beers in the farmhouse went & watched the game, sung my heart out, then went home, i never saw a pompey fan outside the ground at all, probably quite boring but i enjoyed the day

Few 5 o'clock knocks on their way I think.

As I said above, the Police will want to make a few examples, espeically of those lobbing stuff/smashing up the cars as Hampshire Constab. have come out of this looking like they didn't know their arse from their elbows for about 30 mins following the game. I'm sure one of my mates is in for a knock, the stupid idiot was right at the front of that 'melee' on Britannia Road.

Before the game I was at my mates in Craven Street, and there was a group of about 10 or 15 Pompey yoofs running around causing havoc, and just generally being pr***s. OB came down the road, we pointed to them and a chase ensued, like something out of Benny Hill.

When we got home from the game the house opposite was on fire

I came out of the ground, saw everyone running over to the garage so went to have a look. All that was going on was a bunch of mongs on either side throwing crap at each other. I would love to know, if all the police weren't there what really would've happened. Probably all shat themselves and gone crying home to mummy, a bit like storrie.

The whole thing was an embarrassment. I've always thought the 1 thing that proved we were better than the blue few was that we weren't a bunch of neanderthals, clearly I was wrong.

Anybody who thinks this sort of behaviour is cool is a pathetic loser IMO.

Oh and LOL at the skaghead looking ring leader 'saint' shouting at everyone to 'fall back to the station' etc. I think he thought he was Gandalf in return of the king

My thoughts exactly.

I'm not so sure ML will quite as proud as some of you seem to be.

It's time some of you did some growing up.

LOL

It's time some of you stopped being such soppy gits. Do you honestly believe Liebherr is going to leave because a few stones got thrown in one of the fiercest rivalries in England?

Get a life.

Dunno, are you so sure he wont?

Lets hope not eh!

As hardly anyone outside Hampshire is barely aware such a fierce rivalry exists, I doubt if he did either until recently.

SRS, you really are a knob. If you think chucking things at away fans, smashing up someone elses property and running away from the police like a bunch of frightened girls is 'having a life' you really are a sad t wat. It is a footy match FFS. Those involved on Saturday are no better than the skate mongs who went on the rampage, and smashed up their own place.

That is a complete load of cr@p. The Southampton v Portsmouth derby is known across the country... did you miss all the national attention on the tie when the balls were drawn out?

I haven't condoned anything, just simply stated that you are completely over-reacting if you honestly think there is even the slightest chance that Liebherr will pull his funding based on a few stoned being chucked.

The police are to blame for the trouble in Britannia Road for being naive enough to think they could let P*rtsmouth fans out at the same time as Saints fans.

Yeah i didn't understand the reasoning for that.....leave em in the ground for an hour or so and i bet there would have been hardly any trouble at all

Wrong there Stu. I live up in the Midlands and have mates who are fans of clubs up North and in London and none of them think that Saints/Pompey is anything special at all. Not even on their radars. They see it as a bit of a soft southern affair compared to Villa/Brum, Liverpool/Everton, Man U/Man C or Newcastle/Sunderland
