saintjinksie Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 OK have I missed something? Yes there was going to small pockets trouble today but from what I heard nothing major took place so why is it that the echo and portsmouth news are headlining this and seem to be blaming each others fans? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/5006562.Violence_after_FA_Cup_clash/ http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/5006520.Football_fans_clash_as_FA_Cup_match_gets_underway/?ref=mr http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/More-trouble-follows-Pompey39s-FA.6070541.jp http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8514252.stm were our fans rampaging through Freeborn motors, ripping bits off cars to throw at the pompey fans? Or is this the press again doing a bit of constructive journalism yes fans were ripping wing mirrors off and pushed down a flismy fence the Ob had erected
exit2 Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Posted 13 February, 2010 just heard that Shamblehurst Barn in Hedge End was shut this evening due to a major incident after the game!
Um Bongo Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Who ? He used to drive a race car. Tiff! Everyone knows his voice.
saintjinksie Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 the police stopped us all at the plume etc from moving on until around 1215....then they stopped us on the bridge... heave!
dune Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 I hear that Saints youth battered the pompey youth.
alpine_saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 just heard that Shamblehurst Barn in Hedge End was shut this evening due to a major incident after the game! Doesnt surprise me. Last game I saw in there was that Arsenal match when Prutton and VanPersie were sent off - there were Skates at the bar taking the p*ss with barbed comments all match.
Miffy Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 just heard that Shamblehurst Barn in Hedge End was shut this evening due to a major incident after the game! 6 police cars and an ambulance outside at 4.30pm. No idea what actually happened, hope it wasn't too serious or footie related.
exit2 Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Posted 13 February, 2010 6 police cars and an ambulance outside at 4.30pm. No idea what actually happened, hope it wasn't too serious or footie related. Well sorry to say by all accounts it was serious and footie related, Pompey and Saints fans having verbals inside then after it went outside and some Pompey fan was quite seriously hurt, but I guess we will find out soon enough if it is bad
Dog Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Well sorry to say by all accounts it was serious and footie related, Pompey and Saints fans having verbals inside then after it went outside and some Pompey fan was quite seriously hurt, but I guess we will find out soon enough if it is bad That's just terrible news. He didn't have a blue wig and loads of home made crappy tattoos did he?
exit2 Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Posted 13 February, 2010 That's just terrible news. He didn't have a blue wig and loads of home made crappy tattoos did he? Pass mate I was not there, just been told by a mate who went there after the game, well tried to
dannysfc Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 That's just terrible news. He didn't have a blue wig and loads of home made crappy tattoos did he? I no I shudn't LOL but that is soo Funny if it was him because he deserves everything to him Tbh !
peacey Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 apprantly a pomey fan is in critical condition in the genral..... [Just what i have heard]
stanstubbs Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 i suspect that may be a slight exaggeration. you could not of been there then i was
.comsaint Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 just heard that Shamblehurst Barn in Hedge End was shut this evening due to a major incident after the game! It was nothing to do with the footy btw. A lad was punched outside the pub & smacked his head on the concrete. The coppers locked everyone in - took all their names - and then let them all go. Not football related atall.
these things take time Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 I hope all Saints web forum members remembered to stand our ground and fight
SimonRichards Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 I got up the Barn a few minutes after the 'incident,. There was a man 55-65 years old lying on the ground unconscious with a cut head. His mate, nipper and a girl were looking after him. I went in the bar for a pint. No one inside seem to know what happened. When I left 10 minutes later there was a young lad (20-25 years old being put in the back of the meat wagon in cuffs. There was a riot van 3 police cars and a paramedics car. The old bill were taking statements for the arrested lads mates and the nipper who was with the alleged victim The victim was now conscious and in a lot of pain, but still lying in the same position. The police taped off the car park as we left.

Or is this the press again doing a bit of constructive journalism I am sorry but the first clip looks like the police were very close and could have been out of their depth. Luckly it did not kick off big time! Still did not look that bad in the end! Little bit of pushing and shoving, but no fists thrown there. Like I say if they desided to kick off that could have been very bad as the police were well out numbered!
VectisSaint Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Police seem to think it was all quite minor "whilst it was ugly at times, we do accept that, actually, the level of injuries that were caused and the level of damage that was caused was relatively minor." He added: "I'm not belittling anybody who got hurt or perhaps had a car damaged, but in terms of the scale of what happened and the way some people were talking before the game, I think it was a really good operation." Usually the OB will make the most of it, the headlines seem to exaggerate to make this into a story
Andy_Porter Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 I had a bottle hit me on the arm before the game walking towards the northam bridge, didn't hurt or anything... does that make me hard?
SimonRichards Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Just got this message from a girl who works there... Well, someone got knocked unconcious and taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. The fella that did it ran off, two have been arrested, dont know who they are. The scene has been taped off and the crime scene investigation peeps have been in investigating. Also I have heard from a good friend, that is WAS football related.
Tractor_Saint Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 I had a bottle hit me on the arm before the game walking towards the northam bridge, didn't hurt or anything... does that make me hard? Was it blue?

Also with a huge bill to the taxpayer due he can hardy say he did a **** job.
.comsaint Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Just got this message from a girl who works there... Not Leanne was it?
Dog Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Can I just add one thing. The Saints Yoof were fantastic today, the early bird catches the worm. Fair play lads, keep up the good work.
Pilchards Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Its sad that someone on here praises any kind of trouble, I was in the Itchen north which turned ugly as two Saints fans between me started brawling. Anyway I would like to add my comments regarding the trouble, Why the **** did the Police let the Pompey fans out the same time as us? It's brain dead and ****ing dumb.
shurlock Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Usually the OB will make the most of it, the headlines seem to exaggerate to make this into a story Not when they've been publicly stating that they had covered all contingencies. Failure then becomes embarrassing and its in your interest to talk things down.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 the police stopped us all at the plume etc from moving on until around 1215....then they stopped us on the bridge... 5 minutes late to the game cos of that  Were you in the lot that pushed through the OB?
St Landrew Posted 13 February, 2010 Posted 13 February, 2010 Before the game.... Idiots, all of them Indeed.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 When I was near the car place, there was some bloke with his kid who can't have been older than about 12 years old. This bloke was giving a running commentary on the proceedings. "They are the older heads up front" "That's the youth lot there" "The youth are now going to go round and try and flank them"... It was very surreal!!
aintforever Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 it was nothing really, thought the atmosphere was superb.
Psycrow Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 I had a bottle hit me on the arm before the game walking towards the northam bridge, didn't hurt or anything... does that make me hard? If you like it that much, then maybe it does... horses for courses
Mase Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 Where’s David Brent when ya need him? “Free love on a free love freeway … yeh”
Junior Mullet Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 Fu@king idiots. It will take the death of someone very close to some people before they think twice about getting involved in something so trivial.
SimonRichards Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 Not Leanne was it? Claire told my via leanne.
haggy Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 I saw Tiff Needell ordering a pre match pint in the Kingsland concourse. I saw him too - the guy is a **** head! did'nt realise he was a saints fan
scott_saints Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 I was at the King Alfred when it first kicked off with the idiot skate. Started sining PUP thinking no one would react. When two people jumped over the wall about 40 followed and he got a bit of a beating by the looks of things. 'twas an idiot though, deserved it. The congregation by the footbridge (as seen in the youtube video) was a result of people who had ran from the Alfred towards the bloke. Just a load of goading when the skates went past, few coins thrown. One Saints fan got his leg chewed quite badly by a police dog. At the Freeborn garage it did get a bit lairy and I thought Saints fans were going to break through the fence at one points but the batons came out. After allsorts of objects were thrown (rocks, planks of wood, metal signs.....mainly from Saints fans) the police horses swiftly got rid of everyone in the garage car park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_x405qC8g
St. Jason Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 disgusting. its absolutely pathetic. its a football match FFS Just a football match????? Why was it on tv? Why was it a full house? It's much more than "just a game" that's why the passion, attendance and atmosphere was so high!
RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_x405qC8g That's before it even kicked off. I would give details of all that happened but will only face the wrath of the posters who are more sensible than myself
troutmask Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 O come on, in the interests of sociological research you should spill the beans
StuRomseySaint Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 O come on, in the interests of sociological research you should spill the beans About 300 Saints fans in and around Freeborn garage, missiles exchanged for about 30 minutes, horses moved in then running battles with the police and skates for about the next hour in and around the Northam estate.

RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 February, 2010 Posted 14 February, 2010 reads like we were more the sinners than sinned against? I'd say it was half and half.
