alehouseboys Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 Couldn't get a ticket old chap........ Surely you were one of the "hundreds" of skates who had tickets in with Saints? Oh, no...that's right, turned out it was just all bullsh*t once again...like we never knew!

Oh, no...that's right, turned out it was just all bullsh*t once again...like we never knew! Reminds me, I think the old pompey dude sitting in the Itchen stand must have regretted standing up and cheering when the first pompey goal went in! He and his skate mates were surrounded by saints fans screaming at them to get out! Took a while to get them out and got a big cheer when they left but the anger towards them from everyone around in the itchen was quite something!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
pfc123 Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 We did quite well for 70 minutes......Realistically Pompey are a VERY, VERY ..POOR side... "Quite well for 70 minutes" is no good- the game lasts or 90 minutes. Also, if we're so bad what does that make you? The majority of the build up in the last few weeks on here has been all about how many you were going to stuff us by- Many of you clearly have no idea how far you've fallen on the pitch. Anyway, it's nice to finally expunge the memory of that little **** Steve Moran in the last minute at the Milton end in '84. Another ghost buried at last. Silly game, football.....

And the 'pay up pompey ' chant shut up the visiting fans every time they started the chimes. They just didn't know how to respond. Who cares what it sounded like on TV? K.

It's one of our gifts to you that keeps on giving. But, if HMRC has their way, memories will soon be all that you have.

I think you've missed what was going on in the build-up - no-one's going to talk defeat when there's a chance to win. Most of would like to have won but recognised that you are a premier side and we are League one - and we occupy these positions for a reason - therefore we expected to lose. Our chance to win lasted until your third goal; our big joy is that our team didn't disgrace itself, nor did our fans. However, this was a derby and we expected a lot more from your fans. They were very quiet and didn't contribute very much to the event off the pitch once the game had started. Best fans in the land ......... that's a ghost buried for ever !!

I was actually concerned (in a round about way) for the mans health at one point. We didnt need a skate having a heart attack in our stadium afterall (may have disturbed the game ). I'm all for the passion that the great game brings but I couldnt believe the sight of veins popping out of the saints supporters heads as they yelled at him with red faces! For the first time in my life the phrase "it's only a game" entered my head...

Colinjb Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 We thrashed you 4-1. Again....... Another loss, oh no, how will we cope, we havn't had many of them over the last few years have we! We lost to a team who currently have premiership status who had to rely on us over commiting ourselves. A last hurrah before your overblown, unsustainable pathetic bubble goes pop. Enjoy the next couple of months observing the Premiership/Football League as a neutral.
John B Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 We thrashed you 4-1. Again....... Dont think thrashing was the word you were looking for Perhaps we beat you luckily 4 1 would have been better I expect you were worried for a large part of the game until some Ghanian with little knowledge of who he was playing for actually scored against the run of play.

the colonel Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 We thrashed you 4-1. Again....... Thrashing was it......ah welll thats why your club is in the shiitte. Like storie teller you only know how to spin, so badly that the only ones that believe you are yourselves. Play up or pay up. lol ****te fans two choruses of play up followed by one of Pay Up and your lot shut up. Who cares what comes over on the TV. We know and you know how Shiitte your fans really are. So you couldnt get a ticket presumably because you are a plastic and don't attend that shiitte hole of ground. And dont try to use travelling as an excuse as i have a 5hr round trip to travel to Saints and I've only missed one home game and five away games all season. Neutrals have been having a laugh all day about how pompey are on cloud 9 for beating a 3rd division club. Congratulations for beating a 3rd division club by the way. But one thing we all know and scares the shiitte out of you and fishy smelling friends (and that is why you are on here now) is that you are off to nowhere land while Saints are on the way up. It took you nearly 50 years to get on top of us and we are on our way while skates have only been on top for half a dozen years. So it won't be long before skates are back with their 6,000 crowds and you can go back to supporting Manure. bye bye plastic
SuperMikey Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 Been without my internet connection since Saturday morning, so not had the chance to give my thoughts on the match. I was really, really gutted after the game, couldn't even muster the spirit to applaud the team off the pitch. I wouldn't have minded so much to lose 4-1 if we'd played really badly all game, more the fact that our first half performance was so good that I honestly thought that we had a great chance of beating the skates. However, that wasn't meant to be. We were brilliant in the first half. We kept the ball, passed it around nicely and we were unlucky not to go in 1 or 2 goals up at half time. They never really got a look in either apart from a few sparse counter attacks which never really tested Kelvin. When they scored their first goal in the second half though, you could see something switch off with our team. As Skatesmouth grew in confidence, we seemed to shrink back into our shells, and even though Rickie's goal gave us a bit of resurgence, it wasn't enough. I was incensed that our goal was ruled out for offside at the time, and also that P*rtsmouth's 3rd and 4th were allowed to stand, but having watched all the goals back I now see that the linesman and referee were spot on with their decisions. Ultimately it was an aging centre back pairing playing too high a line up the pitch against younger, pacier and fitter strikers who play two divisions up from us which cost us in the second half. Still, I can take some heart from the game, because if we play like we did in the first half more often, I have no doubt that we'll see a resurgence in the league and we may even make the play-offs if we're very, very lucky. COYR!
Legod Third Coming Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 We thrashed you 4-1. Again....... Congratulations. You have a couple of quick strikers and O'hara on loan and you had an inspired keeper. I wonder how many of them will be with you in the CCC next season? Assuming you are still in business which I would give at 60/40. Personally I hope you survive and will live in our shadow again where you belong. But for now enjoy your moment in the sun. It wouldn't be the first FA Cup you've stolen after all - have you paid the coach company who drove you to the last one yet?

All swings and roundabouts this football. Fickle fans at thier best. About the game, we could finish you could'nt. Sums it up really.

About the game, we could finish you could'nt. Sums it up really.Without a doubt we have splashed he cash, there is a major difference we have in L1 crowds that many teams in the PL envy and an owner who can buy himself a few gems if he wishes. Your club of course are the beggars who have gone to the Ritz wearing an expensive ill fitting suit trying to blag a free meal and then asking the management to pay the bill at the same time begging them not to call the police. As for the finishing, you are spot on.

About the game, we could finish you could'nt. Sums it up really. To be fair, we're buying promotion with our own money and not the money that's actually owed to our web company or the man who paints our changing room walls.... Agreed on the game. Your best player is on loan from the bloke who got you into this mess - so at least he has a conscience... And Quincy ME made all the difference. As above, I might be in a small minority but genuinly hope you survive to live in the shadow where you belong. :
rocknrollman no2 Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 Well pfc123,Pompey managed to beat a 3rd Division side using Premiership players you cant afford,or havent paid for. Must make you feel very proud. What with Storrie making up nonsence about being attacked by Saints fans and you blue few thinking you are the bestest fans ever(Saints fans totally outsung the Skate fans),you must all be getting dizzy with all the spin spewing out of your soon to be wound up club!

About the game, we could finish you could'nt. Sums it up really. It might have escaped your notice that we are owned by a billionaire, somebody considerably more wealthy than the owners of ManUre and Liverpool. We can afford to splash the cash and having done so, still have no debt. Your lot on the other hand spent money that you didn't have and have a crappy stadium, one charlatan owner after another and are facing a winding-up order. This entire conversation could be totally irelevant in a week or two, as you will probably have disappeared as a club. So make the most of whatever glory you think that your Premiership club gained by beating a third division club, even if it took you over 70 minutes to gain any ascendancy after we dominated the match.
mcjwills Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 anyone else get the text (forwarded to me by a saints fan who got it)about CilitBang and Pompey, they both can get scum out of a cup. Yes and I replied with the joke about Mrs Registar Derritt in the board room and how she was going to save the club, when PS said really, she says no she winding you up. Strange got no more texts after that.
Tractor_Saint Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 And how about you trying to 'buy' promotion this year? We are buying players because we have money to purchase players. You are trying to stay in the EPL by your fingertips because you didn't have the money and still went out and bought more and more. So, you can deduct that Saints have a better business brain than Poopey (BTW - as you're from Portsmouth, have included this link for you)
mcjwills Posted 15 February, 2010 Posted 15 February, 2010 Some one at work got it right, they just said WHO, as in a few years time when the name P***ey is said we will reply WHO

Frank's cousin Posted 16 February, 2010 Posted 16 February, 2010 Always better to sit on these things for a few days and then reflect - Though we showed that we can play a bit - James pulled off some good saves, but our finising was good league one standard - theirs was premiership against a solid but League 1 defense, so not a surprising result. I think we showed a lot of commitment for 80m minutes or so than ran out of steam chasing teh game so the scoreline reflects that, but we were easily the better side up until the 1-2, then its was a more open even affair... had it gone to 2-2 who knows, but I am proud of teh way they played and thats the most encouraging thing. We now need to try and keep that desire and hunger going into the last leg of the season. If we played like that every week we would get a playoff place - thats what Pards need to be getting them to believe and I hope the lads are not too down beat - we will get our chance for revenge at some point and I would not bet against us. So chin up lads, our performance deserves a positive response from fans, and just because it was pompey, does not mean we should treat it any worse than any other defeat in my book. Let them have their moment in the sun if they truely feel that beating a L1 side means that much to them... It simply shows how far they have fallen if thats the case, and I bet that deep downm, although they wont admit it, they know they rode their luck. More chance of Harry admiting he should shoulder alot of the blame for their overspend than their fans admiting that though!
