Pancake Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/10-reasons-why-being-Pompey.6067322.jp
northam soul Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 I could make a top ****ing 100 about why its better to support saints than pompey. Its a shame the **** paper cant get there super fans to fill a 20k capacity stadium in the premiership. I really hope the tax man gets the job done next week and then see whos gloating.
scott_saints Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 It says alot that they feel they have to justify why supporting their lot is better than supporting ours, despite them being two leagues above us. Poxy little club.
gonzo Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Fair comment about Rory Delap, mind. He was a waste of £4m! But yes, the article does rather reek of desperation especially when they're currently two divisions above us.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 I agree with them on the club crest but if they think Harry did us more harm than them they are seriously deluded.
Capel Saint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 I reckon they were scraping around by the time they got down to insulting Matt Le God's haircut! We could fill a top 10 of Poopey gaffs from just the last six months! Dodgy chairmen, overpaid players (John Utaka, £80K a week), internet site pulled etc. You have to laugh!
dune Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Fair comment about Rory Delap, mind. He was a waste of £4m! But yes, the article does rather reek of desperation especially when they're currently two divisions above us. He's doing alright for Stoke.
dune Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Anyone remember the story about the Paediatrician and the baying mob?
daveygwyatt Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 read the artical my self, shame cant comment on it, so had to add my comments and 10 reasons for supporting saints under the pardew fears front 2 peice.
September Saint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 If that's the best they can do then we're laughing!
hythesaint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 When you are in a hole £11.5M deep its time to stop digging!
Sam Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Whilst viewing the article, ensure that you vote for a Saints win in the poll on the right side of the page!
Hatch Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 TBF, they have a point with a few of those reasons. The Crest, Dia, Delap and the Statue.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Anyone remember the story about the Paediatrician and the baying mob? Apocryphal tale, I'm afraid.
COMEONYOUREDS Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Charlie39s-change-of-heart-will.6066951.jp this story is particularly nauseating
Barry the Badger Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Bloody hell. If those are the best ten reasons they can come up with it shows how sh*t they really are. I mean, Matt Le Tissiers hair cut?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Whilst viewing the article, ensure that you vote for a Saints win in the poll on the right side of the page! Thanks! Now 14% on a Saints win.
pilsburydoughboy Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 TBF, they have a point with a few of those reasons. The Crest, Dia, Delap and the Statue. I would love to think that someone has that statue in their shed and when times are really bad they just pop down the shed to brighten their day. I **** myself laughing just thinking about it. Oh i would have loved to be at the unveiling
Rory Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Fair comment about Rory Delap, mind. He was a waste of £4m! But yes, the article does rather reek of desperation especially when they're currently two divisions above us. The slating of Rory Delap's time here is a travesty, in my opinion. God knows how many times I've posted on here sticking up for the bloke but I don't understand why so many Saints fans didn't rate him here. He was a pivotal part of our FA Cup final team and thrived under Strachan. It's massively unfortunate he wasn't utilised in the correct way by subsequent managers. The way he has performed since he was with us is a testament to actually how good he is. £4 million for Delap in his prime is very good business.
Crab Lungs Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Charlie39s-change-of-heart-will.6066951.jp this story is particularly nauseating I cannot believe someone can actually do that
MongoNeil Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Whilst viewing the article, ensure that you vote for a Saints win in the poll on the right side of the page! Yep, especially after reading their bit about vote rigging :-D
saintjay77 Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Whilst viewing the article, ensure that you vote for a Saints win in the poll on the right side of the page! Voted. A bit ironic due to the vote rigging but all the same, well worth 2 clicks lol
VectisSaint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Several of the points are quite reasonable, particularly reference to Lowe, and to be fair MLTs haircut was awful. I think they missed the point somewhat with the Statue, and they could have made it better for them, after all the real problem is that it looked more like Mandic, don't recall references to Krankie. They missed an opportunity there to have another Agent story like the Redcrapp one (perhaps the statue maker was a closet Pompey fan or something made up). Bobby Stokes goal was not offside.
Master Bates Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Come on then, let's see how long it takes for us to get 50. 50 reasons why being Saints beats supporting Pompey #1 Much more loyal fan base
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Charlie39s-change-of-heart-will.6066951.jp this story is particularly nauseating what kind of knob swaps clubs when older than 6?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Come on then, let's see how long it takes for us to get 50. 50 reasons why being Saints beats supporting Pompey #1 Much more loyal fan base 1 Much more loyal fan base 2 Stadium
saintjay77 Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 1 Much more loyal fan base 2 Stadium 1 Much more loyal fan base 2 Stadium 3 Didnt cost us 60 mil in debt to get to the FA Cup Final
norwaysaint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 I agreed with all of those and most of them have had at least one thread on here where Saints fans have said just the same. What's the problem? There have been loads of **** things about saints over the years. Mostly on the pitch, which they hardly mentioned.
Wilko Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 "Southampton's official website carried a choice of new home shirts for the team to wear ahead of their move to St Mary's Stadium in 2001. Most of them were red and white stripes, apart from one which was in tribute to manager Glenn Hoddle's playing stint with Monaco. The thing is, Saints fans hated the Monaco shirt, Hoddle had already left for Spurs so Pompey fans voted in their numbers for the Monaco shirt to win the vote. Sadly, the club got wind of the vote-rigging attempt, but it was a good effort." Is that really true? Reason 1 - we don't have sex with fish.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Is this why the Echo have put the youtube link on their homepage ? "even the most ardent Poopey fan would agree MLT was a great player" they have noone, noone !! past or present that the same can be said of.
derry Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 And while we are at it, send them the u tube downfall video, now that WAS funny.
Saints67 Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 22% of "them" think they'll get beat keep that figure climbing lads!

It is true, as the The News reporter who compiled that list worked on Saints OS at the time.

Um Bongo Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 Ten Reasons Why Being a Saint is better then a skate: 1) Marcus Leibher - You know, they guy who know owns Southampton? The Billionaire? Oh yeah, the one P*mpey could reakky do with now. 2) Fanbase - Two leagues below P*mpey and still getting a higher attendance - As we always have been bar a couple of seasons. Still, I'm sure you're '250,000' fanbase are all just poor and can't afford tickets? 3) Rickie Lambert - Nice to have a striker scoring goals isn't it? Oh, well I suppose you wouldn't really know, being bottom of the league and all that. 4) Staplewood - Our own training ground and facilities which will soon be better then Fratton Park. I'm sure you'll get you're super '45,000' seater in Hilsea soon though, eh? 5) Our acdamey - Don't even need to go into this. Where's yours? 6) Matt Le Tissier - May have had a **** hair cut in your view, no other pompey player will ever come close to his ability or class. Worth supporting Southampton just to see him play. 7) Agent Redknapp - Not only did he screw us over, looks like he did a more effective job down your end of the road. Well done HR. HMRC - We pay these people on time. If you do that you don't get into trouble. Feel free to pass this advice onto Mr Storrie. 9) John W******d - We have no need for some shoddy Bell and all his mong mates hanging around - What an embarresment! 10) Our Stadium - What you can only dream of. Enjoy it tomorrow, might be the last time you get to step foot in it.
corky morris Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 What a bunch of weird fish *****ing ****s those lot down the road are!!

MongoNeil Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 For some reason, when using Firefox at work, their little poll about the game is letting me vote more than once. It's now the biggest margin (27%) in favour of us winning :-) Time to keep voting I think.
saintjay77 Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 we should win that vote any way cause despite Grants imanginary 250,000 fans we do have more fans than them lol
Tractor_Saint Posted 12 February, 2010 Posted 12 February, 2010 For some reason, when using Firefox at work, their little poll about the game is letting me vote more than once.
