hamster Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Yeah i guess so...was unnecessary stress last year what with people not getting me information til the last minute and printers being a pain in the ass and then having to get into the stands and sell the fudging things. Still i'll just use the template from last years and let them sell themselves this year i think! Allowing me to get my game face on...a cross between Woodgate and Almunia apparently... Scu, As I'm not gracing the field this time around I would like ot offer to print them off this time. Obviously the cost will be neglible, a rough estimate for say 50 copies would be about 1 pint of Guinness. Let me know friend.
Um Bongo Posted 17 February, 2010 Posted 17 February, 2010 Scu, As I'm not gracing the field this time around I would like ot offer to print them off this time. Obviously the cost will be neglible, a rough estimate for say 50 copies would be about 1 pint of Guinness. Let me know friend. I've heard the 'Sammy Saint' costume is around your size height wise??? Maybe a new role for you there.
hamster Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 I've heard the 'Sammy Saint' costume is around your size height wise??? Maybe a new role for you there. You laugh, that would be a dream come true. Stevo can you use your powers to make this happen?
The9 Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 I won't be playing, but I'll be there in some capacity - and given the massive amount of time before Scu's programme has to be ready this season compared to last I'm expecting a glossy 64-pager for £3.
OldNick Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Following recent revelations regarding the finance of football teams, it will be a requirement for the nickh team to produce a formal budget of their expenses for the evening showing a complete breakdown of how they intend to pay the wages of kitmen, assistant managers and assorted hangers on. Said budget should be lodged with Mr Ivor Blindi c/o the FAPL Its my cunning plan, to be a manager £50, offset that by no 2 £25, kitman £15, assistant to no 2 £15, mascot £15, physio £100 (lots of them out there who want to rub down a few male bodies) etc etc...this is going to be very lucrative evening, I learnt all this from Harry's how to manage book
Al de Man Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 Well Al will need someone to tell him what to do. C*ck. Nosher. I'll only have the one suitable lens anyway since I bought a second one for the sole purpose of using it at last year's event and sold it a fortnight later. Having a billionaire owner now, I hope the club won't be so tight with the 'leccy and put the floodlights on.
suewhistle Posted 18 February, 2010 Posted 18 February, 2010 ooh I'd love to play and would if I were in the UK - only 45 minutes mind, and I'd need to use the ref's changing rooms. Have you had any women playing before? As it's a charity match it doesn't matter that I'm over 12 (!!!) as mixed games are allowed.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 ooh I'd love to play and would if I were in the UK - only 45 minutes mind, and I'd need to use the ref's changing rooms. OldNick Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Oh how we laughed. I did as well, a rottweiler with lipstick
stevegrant Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Now open to Registered Users as well as Full Members, only two 45-minute places (defensive positions) remain available.
magnet Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Now open to Registered Users as well as Full Members, only two 45-minute places (defensive positions) remain available. Didn't I get one of those?
stevegrant Posted 19 February, 2010 Author Posted 19 February, 2010 Didn't I get one of those? You didn't say whether you were willing to play at the back...
dubai_phil Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 You didn't say whether you were willing to play at the back... If he does he'd fit in well with those mars bars munchers as nick explained earlier
OldNick Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 How about assistant manager Nick, If Granty is Ok with that, Id be delighted, I had hoped the9 would as well, but I think he is happier watching and giving me abuse from the stands.
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 Did I get in on time Or have I missed out again
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 ooh I'd love to play and would if I were in the UK - only 45 minutes mind, and I'd need to use the ref's changing rooms. Saints Mad Si Posted 19 February, 2010 Posted 19 February, 2010 If Granty is Ok with that, Id be delighted, I had hoped the9 would as well, but I think he is happier watching and giving me abuse from the stands. Let me know Nick, we need to restore some pride for the away team!!
OldNick Posted 20 February, 2010 Posted 20 February, 2010 Let me know Nick, we need to restore some pride for the away team!! we should be the home team this time as that is fair. They had the privilage last time. I do understand Granty is organising it and all that but he is a decent fair minded lad and so Im sure he of anyone in their team will play it fair. So the away team is the home team if you see what I mean. PM granty and check he is happy and it is ok, you could make a donation to a charity of the Saintsweb's choice for that position, (no PFC charities though) Of course it will be worth every penny learning under me, you'll learn how to barge into the front of the queue to get the sarnies for 1, and stand back when the round of drinks is being called, a priceless bit of experience.

OldNick Posted 20 February, 2010 Posted 20 February, 2010 lol and this time i promise to not almost explode when Lowe is mentioned ;-) Yep that would be good, we were lucky we never had Storrie, that would be someone to get het up about. Griffo will be told to target you again, and a year older will mean 5 years slower Mike,. Your legs will be like tangled spagetti after the Griff has nutmegged you time and again. Looking forward to the night again already. Sadly our top striker is not playing the9 has decided not to play, so a big bonus for your lot and a blow for us. Foxy and Griffo will do the business though, with our midfield general Influenced pulling the strings and with the sprightly OOhTerry playing at the back things are looking good.Add to that Um Bongo (this time playing football instead of being the St johns ambulance attendant while you go and score) and Bpsaint also in defence, The Flying Finn's bravery in the tackle and the evergreen and versatile Andy Porter , things are looking fine in our camp. I havent seen the full team list, and so dont know who will be my other stars on the night.

Spades Posted 20 February, 2010 Posted 20 February, 2010 has it been confirmed that the teams are going to be the same as last years? with one or two extra little additions like myself. I hope i dont feel like the new foreign signing in amongst a buzzing team!
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 20 February, 2010 Posted 20 February, 2010 I'm sure irrespective of the side you are in you will be made welcome, however, if you are in the home team (which will hopefully be the away team this year) and come anywhere near oohTH the reception won't be so great !!
Minty Posted 20 February, 2010 Posted 20 February, 2010 C*ck. Nosher. Having a billionaire owner now, I hope the club won't be so tight with the 'leccy and put the floodlights on. Yeah, that was a pain in the arse. Granty, any idea what time KO will be, and if we'll have floodlights this year?! I know it costs a lot to have them on, but if you don't ask...
stevegrant Posted 21 February, 2010 Author Posted 21 February, 2010 Kickoff will be 6.45pm. Not sure on the floodlights, if the weather's like last year I'd hope they'll put them on, but if it's "normal" end of May weather, we shouldn't need it. It only got so murky last year as it was a particularly cloudy and muggy day. All places are now filled, and these are the provisional lineups: HOME TEAM (manager: nickh) GK: Spades RB: Minty CB: bpsaint (45) CB: ooohTerryHurlock (45) LB: Neilza RM: Andy Porter (45) CM: INFLUENCED.COM CM: saintsforlife7 (45) LM: sotonjoe ST: RedAndWhite91 (45) ST: B Rabbit --- CB: magnet (45) CB: SaintDonkey (45) CM: forever a red and white (45) RM: Danny (45) ST: Foxy (45) AWAY TEAM (manager: dubai_phil) GK: REDARMY79 RB: GenevaSaint (45) CB: The Flying Finn CB: bigdavewatson (45) LB: JustMike RM: Griffo CM: prideofthesouth CM: Noodles (45) LM: Scudamore (45) ST: stevegrant ST: Um Bongo (45) --- RB: Delmary (45) CB: stusdad (45) CM: DrZuess1979 the 2nd (45) LM: Arizona (45) ST: St Hando (45) As I said previously, I've not been able to accommodate everybody in their preferred time slot, so my apologies to those who asked for 90 minutes but only have 45 minutes - at least I've saved you £120 I will be emailing everybody shortly with details on how to pay
B Rabbit Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Striker ? How long have i played football with you?!
JustMike Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Striker ? How long have i played football with you?! haha i did wonder when i saw that
Minty Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I knew I'd end up at right back... too many bloody wannabe wingers out there. Anyway, with Danny infront of me second half, looks like I'll be covering the whole side of the pitch. What with him being lazy. I seem to remember Andy Porter being quite useful though, so that's alright.
Um Bongo Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 *BREAKING NEWS* Um Bongo doesn't want to leave his peg in the Away Changing room, and transfers to the away team

JustMike Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 LM. Mother of God... Bridge and Marsden it is then

Wont get anything remotely like a decent cross in, but you will be knackered. P.S. When can we request squad numbers Steve? Shotgun on 22.
JustMike Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 I'm going to drag your sorry a*se along that flank for 45 minutes. Wont get anything remotely like a decent cross in, but you will be knackered. P.S. When can we request squad numbers Steve? Shotgun on 22. yes, good point. Shotgun 23..again

Wont get anything remotely like a decent cross in, but you will be knackered. And so the banter begins... My 'sorry arse' is fitter than most so we'll see who is more knackered!
Arizona Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 But you do have a 45 minute head start. It would be just my luck if I was up against the only player on the pitch who is actually good.
Minty Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 No, no, no... I said I was fit, not necessarily good! Anyway, there were plenty of decent players out there last year from what I remember too.
Spades Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 (edited) Looking forward to this. I trust that my defence will be solid and give me little to do over the course of the 90!... if this is the case then expect to see me popping up the other endfor a few corners Edited 21 February, 2010 by Spades
B Rabbit Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Spades are you Acer? Or am I confusing u with someone else dude? Minty... Team mate... Friend.
stevegrant Posted 21 February, 2010 Author Posted 21 February, 2010 Striker ? How long have i played football with you?! There were about 8 people who put left or right midfield down ahead of you. Everyone is in one of their three chosen positions.
Spades Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Spades are you Acer? Or am I confusing u with someone else dude? Minty... Team mate... Friend. Yes i am... though id prefer it if ou spelt it correctly
B Rabbit Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 (edited) Yes i am... though id prefer it if ou spelt it correctly Hush!! Good....well we have someone reliable between the sticks Edited 21 February, 2010 by B Rabbit
Spades Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Hush!! Good....well we gave someone reliable between the sticks dont say that! you'l jinx me and il have a taibi moment
B Rabbit Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Oh and I'm shot gunning Number 11 before Magnet tries to be funny and has it. 11... Mine
Spades Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Big decision to make here... do i go traditional number 1? or 13? or my personal number of 16!!!! decisions decisions!
dubai_phil Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 And so the banter begins... My 'sorry arse' is fitter than most so we'll see who is more knackered! Hmm I am getting REALLY worried about the Home team. Did we REALLY need to know that Minty has a fit arse? I know the shorts were a bit tight on some last year, but nick, if this is your cunning plan this year to gain favour with the "seemed a nice chap" ref, I wonder if you may be putting all your eggs in the wrong basket a bit too early. Nice to see I have the brains in the team again, Granty - the Thinking man's Steve Moran and Arizonalallana to come on in the left hand slot for the second half. They'll never big up BigDaveWatson from set pieces again and they'll have a mdifielder up front against Big Dave, oh dear, images of Wiley Coyote & steamrollers there - be afraid BR, be very afraid. And the Flying Finn, what can I say? I am honoured to have such major league after party and airmiles experts in the side This is gonna rock. The Sports Psychologist is booked lads, but I'm having trouble tracking down the Physio for the rub downs - my mails to Horton Heath keep getting bounced back for some reason. The really great news is that Ericof Arabia has agreed to be our dietician and now simply needs your Body Mass Indexes so he can properly prescribe the correct amount of Old Speckled Hen you need to consume each day before the game. When I asked him about Pasta and stuff he said yes pastanotherbottle please. So looks good to go your team expect nothing less than a 5 mile run a night, failing that ten minutes tennis on a WII should sort us out
Andy_Porter Posted 21 February, 2010 Posted 21 February, 2010 Really looking forward to this now, nice to see so many old faces from last time playing again.
