Will probably pop to the hospital this evening... expect it's probably just heavy bruising but worth getting it checked out anyway.

All the best with that Steve, made my hospital trip this morning after waking up and finding my ankle resembled a tree trunk. Just a bad sprain luckily, nursed blamed it on wearing blades.

Ironically I threw my studs away the night before as they'd gone mouldy from sitting unwashed in my boot bag since the

winter and I couldn't be arsed to clean them. I'm out of footy for the next few weeks now Mike, might have to stick Jase in goal.

Great moments yet again.

Fantastic work by the team at SMS to make it happen, so I want to say a massive thankyou to them.

Enjoyed the World Class catering (Sandwiches), brought back memories of when I used to play in Darts Leagues about 30 years ago. (Thought I recognised them as the same ones from the Salisbury BRSA Club from all those years ago)

Interesting gossip, NC was at the ground, terror was apparent in the event organisers in case he didn't manage to get PFC to stop trying to tap up Nickh for the vacant position. (Or was that in case he came down to find out what the minions were doing?)

I thought the ref's treatment of nickh by the ref was disgraceful. ONLY sent to his seat like a brat at Primary School - VERY poor decision.

After proving he truly is The moaning One, he was lucky not to get a red Card for giving instructions to players ON THE PITCH!

No wonder they outplayed us first half, they had 12 men on there most the game. And as for the shirt pulling incident, the FA really should get sent a copy of the Video, that has to be a one year ban surely.

I've already emailed FIFA and have been told that they do have the right to rescind the result and award an official 1-3 win to the away team over such flagrant breach of all that is holy in football. NICK - IF you really want to get on the oitch THAT much then just pay Granty the extra and take a 45 minute spot next year. Now THAT would be a sight not worth paying admission paying for.

So match report, we were cr@p in the first half, too slow, running around and bunching, it is hard to get instructions out onto the pitch when you are being drowned out by the pinging from the Northam end (balls hitting seats make a hell of a racket).

How much of that lack of pace was down to the cynical hack on Granty to take him all but out the game in the first 10 minutes? we'll never know.

The late loss of Big Dave Watson at the back really hurt us, but Flying Finn did a brilliant job of trying to fill the holes in our Emmental, sorry midfield, and Lawries' lad put in a sterling effort for a CF asked to play at the back.

Tactically I think next year I"ll have to ask Scudamore to stay on the pitch more rather than popping into the crowd regularly to sell more programmes.

Magic moments - Foxy's over-the-shoulder volley through ball comes a close second to the sending off, with the Ref posing for photos at the end in a close run thrid place. Think one and all will see from those pictures that there was nothing wrong with his eye-sight.

Big thanks to Saint_Stevo for not bringng me my Magners, meant I lasted a lot longer than Foxy at Kuti's - (showed my pre-match training regime was spot on)

Think that everyone who played deserves a medal, and I think you all worked out why I suggested you really DID try and do extra training work :-)

Other highlights? Introducing several of the Forum members to Zubrowca Polish Vodka is pretty high up there, Foxy for giving me a lift back to Heathrow yesterday for what turned out to be an absolute nightmare flight - my TV didn't work, half the toilets on the plane didn't work (500 people on the damned thing with about 8 working loos and me having had a feck off good curry the night before) AND getting chatted up by the Cabin Service Director after I had taken a leaf out of nickh's book and moaned.

Gay Portugese bloke, didn't seem to think it was funny when I asked if he was a friend of Ronaldo, although I didn't complain when he gave me a bottle of St Julien 2000 this month's special Red in First Class (About 60 quid a bottle) but thought it was a bit cheap to stick his business card onto the label. Not to worry though, I got the Ref to give me his card after the game so I could send him a thankyou note for the "nickh incident". I'm sure the Portugese guy & him will make a great couple....

So great night, well played Home Team, you tore us to shreds in the first half, but a magical evening and magical memories.

And my personal best? Hitting an almost waist high half volley sweet as a peach off my Left Foot into the back of the net in the warm-up. In an 18 year pub football career I only ever ONCE kicked a ball with my left and never caught it like that, damn if it wasn't for the knee ops, the roll-up fags and the beer gut I could have been a contender.

Granty - well done again mate BRILLIANT, Minty & Al De Man - thanks for giving up your evening for us sad sickos, fans - what WERE you thinking? Get a life! Let's be Avenue - FFS you could start an abusive argument in a Convent let alone a football crowd - but great to talk such crap so long into the night. Hamster - stop pining for the Fjords on your barge and get your act together for next year! Saint_Stevo - yes mate just work on that knee and you're in.

Phil I think you missed me mate !!!!!!

We missed more than you mate - would like to say we missed the goal too much but I think we only had about 2 shots in the first half

Next year may be very tough though.

This season we were of course playing League One standard of a football. Next year we will of course have to crank it up a huge notch as we WILL be the first sides out there playing CHAMPIONSHIP level football

WHAT

How could anyone forget that

A. That was my class finish for the first

B. That was my Poachers finish for the second

C. I/We CLEARLY had a goal chalked off for an off side that never was.

CHEATS

LOL on a serius note very enjoyable and thats to everyone that made it happen (SS)

I missed you, last season I thought it was a rattle in the crowd until i realised it was your old joints.

I thought you might turn up and give Phil a bit of help with tactics etc or even slip on the pitch un-noticed to make it fairer.

Our midfield were playing through Phils teams and so it would have been difficult for you.

Sorry, I would've had a photo of that had Steve not needed medical assistance!

We linked up very well for that. Linesman was a f***ing c**t.

Not really. or LOL as you put it, succinctly.

Enjoyed the experience again, thought some of the goals were quality along with some of the play in the first half, Spades gets my vote for man of the match. SG, sorry mate thought I got the ball but was difficult as there was someone obscuring all of my view, hope nick enjoyed the win and to use a cliche if it was a boxing match it would have been stopped after 20 minutes it was that one sided.

A very dignified response to the result Phil.

I dont think I would have been so magnanimous, but there again my inspiration would have not got us into that position in the first place.

A great night and still am pleased how well my team played against some decent talent

So. When I bid you all goodnight, it did not occur to a single one of you to mention either Kuti's nor the vodka session eh? Cheers fellas, I could have left the car and taken a sickie if I'd known.

Next year then? After match has to be DcokGate 29 (lol@dp) - Kuti's combo again imho. Could even make it Standing Order - DockGate4 - Kuti's? Either way count me in, umles of course I'm not welcome. :(

I just think it says a lot for the leadership qualities of many on this forum that the After Match organising is left to .........................me

Like I said at the time, previous to yesterday I had been for TWO nights out in Southampton in 19 years. One was so long ago I was allowed into Chicago Rock on Student Night.

Blame Foxy for Kuti's - if he'd eaten the lovely sandwiches we'd have made it to the Gentlemen's club, but nope he just had to go and get Hiccups....

Sadly pre match i offered my resignation as manager...can i have second thoughts??

You won't get a better offer nick. I think that you and phil should remain in post now in all honesty. Don't see why you should pay either. And perhaos there is some mileage in making the fixturea bit more of a formal forum thingy; beer, player of the season presentation, Forum motm trophy, auction, speeches, music, food, SWF nominated charity, families welcome etc.

take some organising but great pr for the club and it could really gain momentum. Obviously i am just the ideas man and would take no part in the proceedings (apart from receiving motm award of course and sourcing ale for the bar).

Better be REAL fecking Ale.

And yes a good shout, instead of our player sponsorship fivers would be a good use of our funds - but I'd still pay for the awesome privilege of standing on the hallowed turf.

Shame the players will all likely all be away on their hols (having sewn up the League title 8 weeks previously) as it would make a good night.

Mind you next year I think I'll ditch the AP Red Socks, they didn't seem to work very well, couldn't get them off in time to ram one into nick's gob to shut him up

I don't think my team minded my encouragement from the touchline, I may have got under some of your players skins by my observations but that is good management for you. Did you also hear the singing of 'Nicks red and white army' and 'give us a wave nick' from the stands? I have wonderful fans and thank them for their support. They outsung Phil's bedraggled army......well not an army really, hamster and Let us Be.

I always think i ve done a good job when the opposition manager does not want a re match

That would explian the stretch-marks around phils mouth, I thought it was from his shouting, he informed me at Dockgate9 that he felt a little horse too.

I only remember tales of Mrs Tiger Woods, 7's rugby and your career best batting performance. Nothing abusive there, surely?

That's a bit harsh Lets B, you didn't mention his bowling when he turned the ball sideways AKA Warne v Gatting. What's he like Phil forgetting that!!
Posted

He must have told that part of the Epic, whilst he was outside of Kuti's, having a smoke with Scu. Hopefully. for Foxy's sake (see what I did there?) he told it again on the journey back up the M3.

I must say Phil has a fantastic insight into the middle east

Well FFS what else is there to do down here apart from learn or bumble off and gatecrash big events?

Oh as an aside, clever work by the plant who decided to let off a firecracker so that the dumb Israeli's would shoot up a bunch of aid volunteers.

I digress. I must apologise, seems in the aftermath I forgot to tell the story of my singing along at a private Stranglers unplugged gig for about 15 mates in his villa garden, but I think I managed to remember the Michelle Wie & Curry House story.

Nice to see the Torygraph agreed with our verdict on Rod's gig the other week. Did tell y'all it would be worth the trip!
