Lee are you on for 90 minutes or 45?
If Lee is taking Mintys place it is a full 90. Lee was really useful last season as he slotted in midfield even though he told me he was a keeper.A good addition to the team and a real bonus.

I sense that you may get a tackle early

I really worry about this year, so much has changed, The Mars Bar incident, the Showers and now talking about your guys getting their tackle in early.

Glad I'm busy and don't have time to work out this confusing new tactic

you forgot about the hair dryer.

An early warning, but we may be slow leaving the changing rooms and so play with yourselves while you're waiting

Nice to know I'll be missed...

^^ You shall be missed...

If you and lee were playing in our team it would be a much fairer line up...but Steve didn't want that so there was no way would it happen!

Is hannah still coming anyway? :)

You've got it.

I assume by that comment Minty is a decent player then?

You will be Minty, I was thinking of asking for a minutes applause before the game in respect.

lol, well I will still be there taking photos instead so a guard of honour would be nice. ;)

No, sorry. Not unless she learns how to use camera equipment and how to shoot football in the next two months.

Oh, and she says 'You're an idiot'. ;)

Nickh I'm really begining to worry about your management skills if you thought Lee was really useful ;-)

I can only judge on the occasion I saw him. Obviously my management skills inspired him to up his game. Lol. Nothing to do with playing on the hallowed turf of course

One of his better games, always said he looked like he could play on a decent pitch.

Or one where running wasn't allowed. :D

So have we sorted the kit problem out? Are they likely to be XL again? If so, there's room for one more.

Nick, I've decided I won't celebrate when I score, it just wouldn't be right.

started my training, gaffer. 1.25 miles done this evening :)

(i know its not that far but for me it seemed like 10 miles!)

Posted

I ran four miles yesterday in preperation for doing 10k for Sports Relief next weekend, obviously will all go out the window when we play in May when I start tripping over myself, the ball, my boots etc as soon as I take the field.

Well, i's your own fault, next time try and get ON the bus before the door closes. :p

But seriously. As you may know I am suffering a bit here. I was gutted at missing out on my "Key Role" at the1st Dubai Footie 7's, but the reason I've had so much time to sit on here the past year or so was because I had started up a new business down here and then suddenly out of nowhere whoosh we get a visitor coming in and I have to drop everything, prepare and run around like Hammie last year getting stuff done and making meetings work.

The point is, when you know what you are aiming at, when you know that you have "The Dream", then every minute preparing, working on the PC or for the Big Day wroking in the gym. Every mile run, every brain cell or muscle you train to work towards that moment when YOU guys have "A once in a Lifetime Opportunity" comes back and rewards you with interest like you would not believe.

The BIG DAY is about The Field of Dreams. One day you'll be an old fart like me & Nickh WISHING we had had THAT moment.

Like me in the last week or so you have to sacrifce somethings that would have been special. Unlike me you guys have time to plan and prepare better, but on THAT day, like with me today IF you have done everything you truly COULD have done then you will not waste that once in a lifetime moment. Your day will stay with you, you will tell your mates and one day your grandchildren. BUT if you do the work, it WILL be that much more special because you. like I did today WILL be the best you can and you will also win.

Feck yeah did I have a great couple of days and fec yeah the Away team - We are gonna ROCK

So, JustMike, 1.25 miles today you star. And tomorrow? at least 30 sit (well stand) ups while watching (listening) to the game.

Sorry about that chaps. Bit emotive today, , I even gave myself a WOOT normal service will be resumed shortly.

Get some fecking miles in boysh. It REALLY helps!

Suck up:D

No, regular SMS players will know the only way to suck up to DP is to make sure there is a case of Magners delivered to the dugout before KO

And of course to set me up with the perfect cross to Volley into the back of the net in the warm up :D

(But this year they may have to fight off my Thai masseure for the role.

No not for me for the fecking calf muscle strains of the Boysh. Still Stevo said he wanted a key role)

I run about 3 miles most days. Also joining a local 5-a-side team to get some practice in.

Go dig out the Opta stats to see how far PL players run in an average game.

Then compare running on roads and streets to the "strange" surface at SMS.

Then go tie some 2.5kg ankle weights on each side and try and do 3 miles.

Should be getting there then

That was Science, from experience I struggled to run in from the edge of the box to the penalty spot but then that's m & my Golden Virginia

Thanks gaffer these motivational speeches are a much better approach on us boysh than the dribble the other "gaffer" (and i use the term loosely) comes up with. :D

Seriously, i am determine to stop the cramps that forced me off last year and at 34 my fitness has been shocking so time for change ;-)

Nick, I've decided I won't celebrate when I score, it just wouldn't be right.

If you score I think we all will celebrate as Haleys Comet is more likely to appear above us on the night. As I mentioned to the Flying Finn you dont celebrate own goals.

I do appreciate the sentiments though, i do hope you enjoy the away team dressing room, it is still the pits wheras my team have the luxury of the newly updated home dressing room.

Fortunately I have not had to give your rabble a motivational speech, and I must say I can't compete with Phil's, as 35 minutes of him reminicing about a Bullfrog and his exploits on a golf course when he was holding an umbrella for a golfers ex wife is very hard to beat.

I will have to concentrate on stupid things like telling me players what an honour it is to be their manager.
