The bloke who done it was hardly going to whip out some masking tape and a few dust sheets, he probably done it in the middle of the night for a laugh.

Take less than 2 mins with some masking tape and a spray can to do a decent job.

EDIT: Actually the best way would be to have a nice cardboard mask ready made and folder up. 30 seconds per letter box like that.
