after the game. Last time we played them I am sure it was us that was shut in after the match for about 10 minutes and they were let out first, so will this happen again this time. Never at any other ground have the home fans been shut in whilst the visitors have been let out first.l

No, we have never been "shut in" at St Mary's. They will shut the north carpark to Saints fans after the game and will also keep the Skates in for 15 min or so.

It may be me but I did check with others who also remembered that there was a game that we were shut in after a game (I thought it was against Pompey) and the visitors went out first. Just hope someone else on here can remember it.

gives you enough time to leg it around the other way to give them a cheery wave goodbye back to the train station ;)

Trust me that has never ever happened. You've just had a bad dream.

I must have had that same bad dream then as well. Don't think it was againts the Skates, but I do recal thinking it was out of order that 'we' had to stay behind at our own place after a match.

The only time I ever remember being shut in as a home fan, was at The Dell, against Chelsea in the 80's

The wooden doors of the Milton lasted all of 3 seconds and all hell broke loose. (Saints fans getting out)

Last time we played them I think they were let out at the same time but to a 'pen' of old bill, ready to be marched back to the station.

Sounds about right. I remember seeing them marched down Britannia Rd about 10 mins after we had been let out

Thank you I know my memory is not what it used to be but there was definitely a game that we were all kept in after and the visiting supporters were let out first, I will investigate this further.

You are both sharing the same bad dream. It never happened. Under what circumstances do you think OB decided to keep 20, 25K(?) home fans hanging around in 4 sides of the ground while 1,2,5K(?) away fans from one section trundled off home ? You've both been at Granny's sherry.

They must be playing around mate. It's definitely never happened.

Perhaps they're thinking of the cup game at SMS where Crouchie scored that penalty, where we stayed in the ground for about 10minutes just singing at the Skates. Nobody left for ages, so perhaps they're getting confused with this - but the skates were the ones being held in not us.

A good mate of mine who is a Pompey fan and is attending the game has told me they all got a note with their tickets warning them that they'll be kept in for a short while after the match and apologising for the inconvenience.

Now you mention, it I too have a recollection of crowd control being handled badly at a Pompey game.

I've got a feeling that we may have been let out marginally later than Pompey and that the Saints fans were all herded down Belvidere Road while the Pompey fans were herded down Britania Road.

Sorry I did get it a bit wrong, but as Saint Bletch said above I had to move from block 42 and went to the Itchen we were kept behind barriers and were not permitted to walk down Britannia Road and told to wait until they cleared the Pompey fans. I could not understand why they didnt let us all out first and keep them in, it made it difficult for people to get to Northam road.

Nah, they'll let us both out at the same time to bash seven bells out of eachother, it'll be pwwwwopa nawty.

Bring tools.

Ill bring Wiltshire, you make sure you have Kardeem.

I park in Wilson street at a mates garage, when they were last here I was escorted to my car because they did not believe me, due to the blockades was one of the quickest ive ever been able to get out.

I'm pretty sure that last game at St Marys (the win in the FA Cup in 05) that the Pompey fans were kept in for 15 minutes after the game.
