due to a refusal to watch their games on tv I know nothing about their players!

Think I remember their keeper!

What are the likely strengths / potential weaknesses

Boateng is out for 2 weeks with ankle problems after he stropped out of the Man U game...

On BBC it says he came ON as a sub in the 61st minute?? By 77 minutes he had already given away two fouls for terrible tackles and given a yellow lolol. You sure he is injured, nothing said about it on BBC?

If you want an idea you should go watch the Sunderland game and the Fulham game.

They are a poor poor premiership team. Won 1 of their last 8 games and scored only 5 while conceeding 16.

Their style if you can call it that is basically long ball and hope Utaka or Dindane create something.

They have won only 1 game away all season.

Dindane is a good player so he is their strength. He fecks up alot but he doesn't really have anyone creating for him. So a bit of a scrappy player. In some ways a bit like Waigo.

Their weakness in my opinion is their midfield and full backs. If you can get at them you can create a lot of chances such has been shown.

Away they are dreadful, ****ter then ****. Scored 5 goals all season away and conceeded 24. If they bring that form into our house they could get mauled.

Obviously they play at a higher level then us but we should not fear them. Regardless of being a rival to us if someone offered us any of the remaining prem league teams to play in the round i would of still picked them.

Grant should be in the stands for the game too. Hope we have some songs based on his visit to a brothal going round :)

The fact of the matter is, now matter how much banter they give us in terms of winning, we'll always come back with the fact theyre going bust and are f*cked. I reckon it could get naughty with some of them charging at the police to get to us.

Yeah when you think about it this will probably be the most emotionally charged game we played each other, at least as long as i can remember. One going out of business. One was kicked down so bad and was a laughing stock, taunted at every turn by the fa cup winners etc.. I would love it, ****ing love it if we mauled them.

It is going to be like The Warriors for their lot, trying to get home etc if they kick off :)

I'm not saying they are not poo but if you watched them play Man City a while back you'd have seen them completely out play City and get quite unlucky with the result.

Your right that at the back they are weak and we shouldn't fear them but lets get something straight, they can play, with players like Boateng/O Hara they could play through us quite easy if they were on form and we let them lay.

I did watch that game, and i thought it was one of the most dire games i had seen this season. Man City played awful and did not look interested. They made Pompey look better then they were. And for them playing as bad as they were the only chance they had was when they hit cities bar after one of their defenders deflected a shot that was going well wide onto it.

If they play like they did in that game and we play like we did midweek i think we will beat them.

Utaka and Dindane could tear our cup team up I fear. With no Fonte, I think we may struggle. O'hara is bloody useful in the centre too.

Looking forward to Thomas kicking the sh!t out of whoever plays up front... And if Hammond plays kicking the **** out of that cu*t Hareidasson. I'm going for a 3-0 saints win.

Yeh now that would be Good and I think that we will win 2-1 and go through but we will see ;)!

Why does the OS and Echo keep referring to a 12.30 kick off.

So am I wrong......don want to get here late ;)

So if Man City playing badly made them look good, just imagine how good they could look against US playing badly.....

My completely unbiased Fulham mate reckons they played well at Craven Cottage and were unlucky to lose, played some good neat football moving forward, so I think they are still heavy favourites.

you never know though.

No they're 13/8 and we're 2/1 on Betfair. So they're favourites but only just.

For those that are that way inclined Prince Boatang actually lives in southampton, by ocean village if i'm not mistaken. Would be a shame if he was kept awake all night by noisy saints fans ;)

Then again I think half of our team live there as well?

He is on loan until the end of the season so why not ?

They are still in the FA cup. I'm sure if they have a massive midfield injury crisis then harry will want him back.

OK, what time tonight is Fred Dinenage going to report as fact that all this rivalry between Southampton and portsMYTH goes back to that (ficticious) Dock Strike?

He's been convincing the blue few for 3 decades now that they're a "big club" when they quite clearly never were, why let the truth get in the way of a good story/lie. :^o

I brought 2 adult tickets and they arrived this morning in the post. They say family enclosure on them. I assume thats not a problem considering they put us there?

I should be sitting closeish to him. Am going to take a pair of red and white frilly knickers to wave at him.

Either way I don't think we should be going in 4-4-2.

Either team doesnt fill me with confidence against a team fitter, stronger, technically better and quicker than any other we have played this year.

We have suffered each time opponents go up a gear against us - Norwich being a prime example and Brighton another. If Pompey play with vigour we could be embarassed.

only if he came on i believe

Correct - if Spurs agree, he is eligible. FA Rules say:

"(g) A substitute who does not play in a match is entitled to play for another Club in the

Competition in the same season"

how sad am I?

No, anyone of any age can go in the family enclosure even if they don't have kids with them. Just be warned, watching a football match in the Chapel stand with loads of kids would be my idea of a nightmare! :D

From the Press Association:

We will not be staffing for pictures the FA Cup game on Saturday between Southampton and Portsmouth after the home club required us to agree not to supply any photographs from the fixture to the Southern Daily Echo. Press Association considers such a restriction unacceptable.

so the feud continues... forget the rights and wrongs, it's absurd at a time like this...
