Charlie Wayman Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 They did look happy didn't they They'll probably buy Johnston's Paint if we win.
The Angel Gabriel Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 It certainly could be a lot worse Jam and if the Wembley experience helps cement a long lasting affection for the Saints then great. I still think AP needs to buck his ideas up however and NC is very aware that tactically things aren't right at present..... Wembley visit or not. Our good fortune in being bought by (saved by) Markus Liebherr and further good fortune in having him appoint Nichola Cortesse and even more good fortune in them appointing Alan Pardew and crew, is massively hightened by the reality that we could be supporting a newly formed Southampton AFC at the mo. Any disgruntled fans wanting to criticise should just think back to our situation just a few months ago. Fitzhugh is exempted as he's just trying to qualify as an angry old fella.
dronskisaint Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 A song for Markus? Got to be based around the Rupert the bear tune (geordie fans did it with Phillippe Albert) 'Markus, Markus Liebherr...' Sadly because my kids now both (weep!) have a 2 in front of their ages I can't remember the next bit...help me parents of youngsters?
NickG Posted 11 February, 2010 Author Posted 11 February, 2010 Even a miserable sod like me would look jovial if I had about $4billion in the bank and my team had just got to a cup final. Hang on I am halfway there :smt033 you've got £4billion!
Brussels Saint Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 I seriously love this forum sometimes....sat here cracking up at work..........from the 2 guys who seem to think the Dalai Lama posts on here, to the guy wanting to tickle NC under the chin (totally agree) to the "if I had 4 billion in the bank and my team had just got to Wembley, I'd be pretty jovial" comment........brilliant.......this thread is comedy gold!
NickG Posted 11 February, 2010 Author Posted 11 February, 2010 This is not a dig, or having a go, merely an observation. The likes of Glasgow, Delldays, Alpine -who are very visible on threads criticising Pardew or saying how unhappy Cortesse is, have no comment when reports show Cortesse being happy and pleased.

I don't think those you mention above take huge delight in criticising the manager or other parts of the club, but what they don't sometimes do in roughly EQUAL measure, is come along and comment where praise is due. If people are to be so vocal in their criticism, then they should be equally vocal when there is something to praise. And there is a great deal of opportunity to do that at St Marys. So if those posters, you mention, wonder why people have a go at them sometimes, they ought to realise that, recognising good, is as important as pointing out the bad. It's my belief that if you are even handed, and fair, then your criticism, positive or negative, is more likely to be taken notice of, and respected.

St Landrew Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 FWIW DD, I don't really have a problem with any of you. Just putting into words what others might be thinking.

hughieslastminutegoal Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 They'll probably buy Johnston's Paint if we win. Why? Do you think they need to put a gloss on things?
St Landrew Posted 11 February, 2010 Posted 11 February, 2010 I think we are great..I am unrealistic I think we are crap..I am a troll oh well.. Spoken like a true football supporter. Perhaps we are somewhere in between..? Can football supporters understand that there is a bit between great and crap..?

You know for instance I was not underwhelmed by Pardew. You also know that I have never, ever mentioned this season being about relegation battles or avoiding relegation.
