Arizona Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 29,901 in the ground last night, of which 29,900* were Saints fans. I know we've sold out a few times in the Prem, but on those occasions there were usually three or four thousand away fans, meaning we only ever had 28-29 thousand Saints fans. So was last night a new record? Just a thought. *Apparently MK brougt 441, so that's 29,460.
StuRomseySaint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 No Matt Le Tissier testimonial. 32,000 Saints fans.
Bucks Saint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 For a competitve match, Steau Bucharest, as the Corporate areas were full as well. That said, Steau had a few more than MKD did. Says it all about MKD really
bungle Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 15,000 Saints fans (give or take) and then the plastics.
St.Patrik Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Relegation day against Manure - not a single empty chair in all St.Marys
Appy Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Relegation day against Manure - not a single empty chair in all St.Marys About 3 and a half thousand United fans though.
Saint Bowood Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 15,000 Saints fans (give or take) and then the plastics. wondered how long it would take to get back to the 'I'm a better fan than you' sh*t - Ban the plastics I say - send em down the road ..... tw*t
paris Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 So although the sell out signs were out last night it wasn't a 32,000 capacity so not a real sell out ??
Appy Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 So although the sell out signs were out last night it wasn't a 32,000 capacity so not a real sell out ?? Other than corporate and away fans.
Scummer Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 From where I was sitting, I couldn't see 2000 empty seats.
Dimond Geezer Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 For my sins I sit in the family centre (corner of Chapel & Kingsland), and this was a question I asked my neighbouring fans (all STH btw). It did look a bit unusual seeing Saints fans taking up nearly all the Northam, and the MK fans tucked away in the corner. It was great to see so many there last night, although I did find it a little strange not being able to stretch out, usually my kids desert me & go and sit at the top of the stand, :smt102 but couldn't yesterday, so I couldn't lean on the seat next to me, as has become a habit over the last few seasons.
Hatch Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Probably the biggest (non-final ) JPT attendance ever.
Appy Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Probably the biggest (non-final ) JPT attendance ever. It was.
saintgert Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Other than corporate and away fans. Can someone explain to me why we don't sell the corporate seats at, say, a tenner more than normal seats (excluding the free booze etc)
Frank's cousin Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Nope - that must have been the 1st Teb Bates Trophy against B Munich - they folk stand in the isles!
saint1977 Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 15,000 Saints fans (give or take) and then the plastics. Eh? OK, so it would be great to have 30,000 every week but Jeez, we had 18,000 for Stockport who brought far less than MK last night and I hardly need to add that the 3,000 so-called extra Saints fans on top of your figure would not exactly be termed "plastics". I went last season and I don't want a medal for it. Walking over the Itchen Bridge last night and listening to the singing and cars with flags was a joy. Just enjoy the journey and let the whole Lowe/Askham thing go because they are history. The fans are returning because the atmosphere is getting back to what it always was (friendly and fun) and the unpleasantness stemming from previous seasons and regimes is gone.

Although, there are still a few of the serial complainers from the Lowe era still here, they're dotted around the ground and need slapping.
This Charming Man Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Nope - that must have been the 1st Teb Bates Trophy against B Munich - they folk stand in the isles! Agreed there, they let to many people in that night and nearly every aisle in the stadium had people sitting/standing on them. Easily over 33,000 there that night with a couple of hundred Bayern there, but they will obvisouly never admit that.
alpine_saint Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 15,000 Saints fans (give or take) and then the plastics. What a surprise comment Mr. Hard-Core Ueber Fan would rather the stadium was half-empty every week, so long as he maintains his cliquey moral superiority.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 15,000 Saints fans (give or take) and then the plastics. So super fan, would you rather see just 15k or full to the rafters like last night ?
Dr Who? Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Probably the biggest (non-final ) JPT attendance ever. Yep they announced it at the game that it was th largest ever attendance in this compitition!! Brilliant! Now for the largest at a final!
Gudz Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Nope - that must have been the 1st Teb Bates Trophy against B Munich - they folk stand in the isles! Was going to say the same, that was ridiculously rammed - in a good way, of course. Still, great thread imho. So proud to be not just reading threads about a packed SMS but also being there to experience it. COYR!!!
