Bucks Saint Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 Train tickets booked! Reading to Paddington. Return travel card £19.50. Booked? I did not realise we have such a massive contingent coming from Berkshire. Best get myself on to one of those packed trains sharpish!
Whitey Grandad Posted 23 March, 2010 Posted 23 March, 2010 If it makes anyone feel better, I've just seen on the Carlisle website that their coaches are leaving Carlisle at 04:00.

krissyboy31 Posted 24 March, 2010 Posted 24 March, 2010 Or in real terms (bodyclock) 3.0 given the changing of the clocks. Straight from the pub then. Plenty of time to sleep on the coach.
influx Posted 24 March, 2010 Posted 24 March, 2010 Train from Coventry at 9:25, arrive at Wembley 11:10. 18 quid return. Couldnt of been easier!
Vershinin Posted 24 March, 2010 Posted 24 March, 2010 Anyone else staying at the Ramada, Acton? Make sure you keep an eye on your stuff if you're in Acton m8. Some of its a bit foreign.
Saints foreva Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 I've just been on TFL and had a look at the tube lines that day and it seems like the majority of results from Waterloo to Wembley Central say I'd need to take a bus as well. Has anyone come across anything better for the tube? Thanks.

Has anyone come across anything better for the tube? Thanks. You should be able to go from Waterloo onto the Bakerloo line - which will take you all the way there. I've had a look on the planned works, and most of the lines are closed at some point on Sunday, but Bakerloo seems to be fully operational all day and that takes you straight to wembley central. Departing: Sunday 28 March 2010 at: 09:12 From: Waterloo To: Wembley Central Departing: Sunday 28 March 2010 at: 10:12 From: Waterloo To: Wembley Central (both of those are direct - no changes/buses)
rick1976.4.38 Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 or get tube to baker street have a drink in the globe and then metropolitan line to wembley park.or marylebone station to wembley central on bakerloo line
SFKA South Woodford Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 And here's another one boarding at Reading. I'll get down there for about 1000 I reckon. Travelling from Basingstoke to meet my dad at his hotel in Reading and then going Reading - Paddington - Marylebone to Wembley. Will probably be going around the same time as you.

All the info is here: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/plannedworks Fortunately on Sunday the Metropolitan Line is only suspended between Moorgate and Algate so not a problem for most people getting to Wembley. Jubilee line appears to be suspended on Saturday but fine on Sunday.
bolo Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 Can someone give me some travel advice... Hong Kong to Wembley please!!!

lambertsrightleg Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 or get tube to baker street have a drink in the globe and then metropolitan line to wembley park.or marylebone station to wembley central on bakerloo line sounds good. what's the time for the tube?
View From The Top Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 For those driving up see you at Denham stn about £3 return and no problems being gridlocked after unless your into that nonsence I was going to park at Hillingdon and tube in but this seems a cheaper and quicker option.
iansums Posted 25 March, 2010 Posted 25 March, 2010 For those driving up see you at Denham stn about £3 return and no problems being gridlocked after unless your into that nonsence Where do you park at Denham? I was planning on driving to Rickmansworth and parking in a big multi-storey there just by the station.

(hope i haven't spoken too soon)
dune Posted 26 March, 2010 Posted 26 March, 2010 Just gotta nip into town to the barbers and then pack my rucksack then it's all done.

I expect a lot of people have this idea so the 6.55 will be just as busy. My group will be getting to central just after 6 to avoid the queues & get a decent place on the platform to make sure we get on the train!

I was planning on driving to Rickmansworth and parking in a big multi-storey there just by the station. big car park at the station £3.50. Train fare about £10 return not £3 as reported earlier. Still a good option though. Also Gerrard X is close by and has twice as many trains as Denham.

I'm planning to get the 6.55 and am hoping there isn't a stampede. 4 of us have to get there from Woolston and it's too early for the buses, so we're going to book a cab for about a 6am pick up I guess. I won't sleep on Saturday now as I'll be worried about the cab not turning up!! By the way. does anyone think there'll be any probs with taking beer on the train?
saints_is_the_south Posted 26 March, 2010 Posted 26 March, 2010 By the way. does anyone think there'll be any probs with taking beer on the train? None what so ever! Always travel to away games on the train & always have a crate of cans under our arms!

I just thought that the police might be a bit funny about it given that there'll be so many of us going there on the train; didn't want to buy a load of beers only to get them taken off me at the station!!

Was at the station earlier and there were no signs up that I saw saying no alcohol. There were signs in the days leading up to the skate cup match so you should be OK. Though I remember having cans taken off me by Officer Dibble when I turned up at Winchester Station for the train to Wembley in 92!

Right sider Posted 26 March, 2010 Posted 26 March, 2010 Do you really think that the guards are gioing to be that bothered with the amount of people on board. Ps my mate is in the loo! (insert winking smiley)

RedArmy Posted 27 March, 2010 Posted 27 March, 2010 Sounds like the 6.55 train is the popular one, going to interesting on the platform when the train pulls up.
