I use this web site for when I stay over, most of the cheapie hotels are meh BUT they are good and they are cheap http://www.london-discount-hotel.com/ I'm aiming for Paddington area loads in Sussex Gardens about 4 mins from the Station. Saves an hour back to Heathrow
saintchris23 Posted 1 March, 2010 Posted 1 March, 2010 Been trying to find train times from Hedge End to London Waterloo without success so I phoned National Rail Enquiries to be told.... There are NO Trains from Hedge End to London Waterloo on Sunday 28th March!!! Don't be such a tightwad! Get a lift or a taxi to Parkway like the rest of us Hedge-Enders! On a side note......see you there!

On the Quality Hotel Wembley Official Site it would have cost £125!!! I hope this is all genuine and not a scam? I use them when I stop over in London - done it about 8 or 9 times now. Also I just booked myself in to a hotel near Paddington through it so we'll both be screwed if they are a scam! Paddington is great for me as I can come in on the Heathrow Connect, check in and sleep off the flight before going out in the evening, then left luggage, Bakerloo up to the game and back pick up the bags and out to Heathrow to get the rental car. When I found them I compared them with other sites and noticed they were 5 or 10 quid cheaper than other "Cheap Hotel Web Sites" and a lot cheaper than any Hotel web site!

Well I rang up the Hotel in wembley to make sure they had got my booking and they hadn't. They advised i ring back this afternoon which i did. Still no booking. Rang up the cheap london hotels people and got an answer machine and left a message. 10 mins later a girl rang back and said not to worry, they block book and that's done through another company and won't send my details until the 26th March. It's probably all fine, but i'm now worrying a bit.

That came in about 10 minutes after I did the reservation. I then got an email from them about 3 hours later saying that unfortunately the one I had chosen had sold the room but they had an adjacent one (it was two doors away I had checked it out earlier) and asking if I would like to transfer the booking or cancel completely. I just replied and asked them to transfer. Will let you know what happens. the "Details" but is not an issue, the room is booked in the name of a booking agency who sell through the web. Normal routine but keep an eye on it and if you don't get the hotel voucher/confirmation email then mail them tomorrow. BUT make sure you print the voucher and take it with you! Effing difficult finding an internet cafe in London to print one off when you forget it!:-xOh and the good news the second hotel includes Breakfast as a "sorry"

Tickets for Silverspoons are a tenner, thats because its only 50 Meters from Wembley, has 5 bars, loads of bar staff, disco, holds over 2000 and is always the best pre match atmosphere before a cup final. Alaso, the beer is £1.50 cheeper than inside Wembley! http://www.coyr.co.uk, tickets are now on sale and going really quickly.

oldsarum Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 Just received this response form SWT regarding additional trains on March 28th With regards to additional services, in the morning the additional train will depart from Bournemouth at 0750, and call at Brockenhurst 0807, Totton 0818, Southampton Central 0825, Southampton Airport Parkway at 0833, Eastleigh 0837, Winchester 0847, Basingstoke 0904 and arrive at Waterloo at 1022. After the match an additional train will depart Waterloo at 1742 and call at Basingstoke at 1904, Winchester 1920, Eastleigh 1934, Southampton Airport Parkway 1938 and arrive Southampton Central at 1948. Passengers for beyond Southampton will need to change there onto other services. Not a lot of help to me, as my enquiry was regarding trains from Salisbury but hopefully will be of use to others on this board
diggers Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 Can you pay on the door? If there's any availability left, its a gamble but the price on the door will be the same. The way tickets are going it is looking unlikely there will be any tickets left but I cannot say for sure. http://www.coyr.co.uk

dune Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 A pre-match disco on a Sunday morning? This put's me off. I hate pubs with loud music blarting out in the daytime, especially on the Sabbath.
dune Posted 3 March, 2010 Posted 3 March, 2010 http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=20335 http://www.thegreenmanhotelatwembley.co.uk/ I must say this place is looking like the best option and it opens at 7 a.m . devonsaint Posted 4 March, 2010 Posted 4 March, 2010 Does anyone know about the parking situation at or near SMS if you're going by coach from there? Normally you can park at SMS but 75+ coach loads means an awful lot of people will want to park a car and I can't see the SMS car park being big enough. Will the usual official car parks be available? I don't understand why some coaches aren't starting from the usual pick up points in Eastleigh & Winchester. Almost everyone having to travel to SMS has made the situation worse.
