We are going the day before for a tenner on the train ( if you pre book ) and getting a budget hotel , seen one for 11 quid a night in paddington! ok for a load of beer monsters who just need a bed, might bump into some skates in the evening and wave our money at them

I booked in at a central london travelodge a couple of weeks ago for £39, they are now selling rooms for £80 for the same night (sunday). Tried to ammend my booking to incorporate the saturday but they'd sold out.

There are NO Trains from Hedge End to London Waterloo on Sunday 28th March!!!

Had the booking confirmation email and printed it out, so everything should be ok, but it's still a little concening that they apparently don't send your details til the 26th. I appreciate that they block book and probably don't send the details of their clients til nearer the time though.

We might venture into town or we might just go out in hounslow,or even nearby chiswick ! the hotel is near hounslow west station which is on the piccadilly line, bit of a trek to town but not bothered, done covent garden etc loads before and it would make a nice change being away from the tourist trap , gonna go with the flow. On the day it's not a bad journey to wembley just piccadilly and metropolitan line with a change at rayners park.

With regards to additional services, in the morning the additional train

will depart from Bournemouth at 0750, and call at Brockenhurst 0807,

Totton 0818, Southampton Central 0825, Southampton Airport Parkway at

0833, Eastleigh 0837, Winchester 0847, Basingstoke 0904 and arrive at

Waterloo at 1022. After the match an additional train will depart

Waterloo at 1742 and call at Basingstoke at 1904, Winchester 1920,

Eastleigh 1934, Southampton Airport Parkway 1938 and arrive Southampton

Central at 1948. Passengers for beyond Southampton will need to change

there onto other services.

I work at Heathrow, and as long as you get a hotel on the Bath Road, or book a room at the Jury's Inn outside Hatton Cross Station, then all buses are free and they run all night. It's part of the Heathrow freeflow system. The 285 is my bus of choice when I'm working lates.

 

I do agree though, that there are many more hotels, and better ones in London that can be just as cheap.

Does anyone know about the parking situation at or near SMS if you're going by coach from there? Normally you can park at SMS but 75+ coach loads means an awful lot of people will want to park a car and I can't see the SMS car park being big enough. Will the usual official car parks be available? I don't understand why some coaches aren't starting from the usual pick up points in Eastleigh & Winchester. Almost everyone having to travel to SMS has made the situation worse.
