1 change and 2 hours?? Oh please tell me there is not rail works on... that is gonna cause a massive headache, that might just make my mind up to stay the Saturday in London.

There are this Saturday, which is brilliant for those of us travelling down...

What time is kick off, I seem to think I read it will be 12.00 noon.

Hope not, that will be f*cking retarded. Imagine coming down from Carlisle in time for that!

Anyway, the thought of trying to get the train back with 40,000 other Saints fans put me right off that, so we're driving up now and parking in Richmond.

It has yet TBC. I'm hoping for at least a 2.00 pm kick-off at the earliest - preferably 3.00 pm.

Got to allow plenty of drinking time before the game, will not be impressed if its a 1.00 kick off as that will ruin the day.

Those train times seem slow as it normally takes hour and half from parkway only calling at a couple of stations.

Are their works or a different schedule on a sunday.

It will be about 1.15pm KO. Sky are contracted to show a PL game at 4pm, and it won't be allowed to overlap into that.

Well both a our first leg and last nights game at carlisle were live at 7pm and had a premier league game live at 7.45pm which overlapped. Last seasons game kicked off at 3pm I think.

28th March Soton central 06.55 - Waterloo 09.08

28th March 2010 Waterloo 21.05 - Soton Central 23.00

Ticket details

Super off-peak day travelcd £68.80

4 Adult(s) Groupsave 4 Fare @ £17.20

That couldn't be easier, leave at 6.55 and there aren't any changes and should be in the pub for 10ish, which isn't too bad for a 1.30 start.

if you think it is bad coming up from southampton check trains coming down from carlisle, looks like they will have to come down saturday or by coach/cars sunday, couldnt make kick off otherwise.

Posted
I'll walk to Wembley if I have to! (Although I live in Egham and work for LUL so it's simples for me to get there.)

i will also walk to wembley because i live in wembley. very simples.

Nevermind, even less ticket sales for them, even more for us :D

One of the grumpy programme sellers told me last night before the game that the club had already ordered 100 coaches to Wembley the day before. Whether this is true or not is another thing though.

Someone suggested to me that a drive up the M3/M25 to Heathrow and a fast train straight to Wembley is quite a good plan (so long as one of you is T-Total)?

Anyone tried this?

Couldnt be arsed to read all of these, but there is a fast train to London, then a slow one. The fast one only does about 4 stops. Get a day card with underground so you get off at Waterloo, enjoy a few of the bars on the Thames then walk across the footbridge (Tube it if you're lazy) to Embankmet right across the water. There you can get a tube straight to Wembley Pretty much. You can then go on the lash in London before the 1:50 train home :D

Huh?

The fast train is Heathrow Express to Paddington it is about 24 quid return

Then you have to get from there to Wembley on the Underground

You can get the Connect Service which is about 16 quid return to somewhere like Ealing Broadway or Acton there are buses along the North Circular - will check them out

But both are expensive compared to other methods

I'm doing my googling tomorrow. Already found a web site with hotels in London from 39 quid a night, but damned if I'm telling you lot until I've found one and booked it! :D

IMPORTANT!!

Just realised that 28th March is the start of British Summertime - so will all need to get up one hour earlier!!!!

Don't miss the 1st half!

That's a real pain in the gonads, effectively a 12.30pm kick-off then (in drinking terms).

Drive to Osterely tube station, free parking, few scoops in the Osterley Hotel pub, then onto Wembley.

Back to the hotel after for a ruby.Mighty fine Indian restaurant attached to the premises.

Lovely jubbly.

I think that they only have the one, but these do a great price for 15 seater mini-bus. They also work Sundays so it can be picked up on the day.

Less than £70 for a day.

I was gonna book it myself but will be away that weekend and am going to be 'taking the dog for a walk' on the Sunday and fully expect t lose him, returning home late evening half-cut to find said dog has mysteriously found his own way home. I will probably also forget to turn my phone on that day too.

Best of all drive to Denham (near junction of M25 and M40 ) plenty of parking at Denham station. Take the train (Chiltern Railways) from Denham to Wembley Stadium (20mins)

Regular Wembley users use this route all the time

Ta very much for that, trains appear to leave Denham at 16mins past the hour and take about 15mins, so likely to get there for the 11.16 train.

I went to 6th form (Strode's) in Egham.

I'll be joining the train at Walton On Thames.

That would be good for me, even if I do have to miss out on an afternoon's skiing

I'll be in Tignes desperately trying to find a pub that has Sky, and if I am lucky on that score, I've got to hope the match doesn't clash with a Prem game, 6 Nations rugger or a twiddlywinks match :(

Fingers crossed.

Everyone round to Seanos gaff for a booze up!

There's still lovely looking lady types sitting on the wall outside. (I'm still young enough to say that without being a "perverted old man"... :-D)

And apparently the police have sent out a note saying no alcohol on the coach or driver loses his licence and it goes no further!

The real question is what time to leave for a 1.30 ko? If we do get 40,000 tickets it will be a crawl up the M3 - how about the A34/M4 alternative?

Lets hope the Highways Agency use their brains and keep the M3 free from weekend roadworks as well!

could anybody out there be able to give me so general advice?!

Im hoping to fly over rfom Belfast for the game, does anybody know what Airport would be best to fly into and any decent hotels to stay in for a night in London?
