St Marco Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Not seen a thread so thought i would start one. Some might say that it is a mickey mouse cup. It is. But the only time i went to Wembley was in 1992 in the Zenith Data Systems Cup final. That was a Mickey mouse cup too. But the day out was fantastic and one which i will never forget. Clubs these days outside the pl only really have one chance of going to Wembley and that is in a playoff final. As a cup team this year we have done very well regardless of what happens on saturday. We have a real chance to win our 1st trophy since 1976. So thanks to those involved, well done, you did us proud. With all the negative threads on this board, lets try and keep this one positive at least please. COYR we are going to ******* Wembley!!
revolution saint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Nice to see Cortese and Liebherr standing up and cheering the team about two minutes before the final whistle. I'm surprised a steward didn't turf them out for standing though.

Huffton Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Had to laugh when the Northam stared to sing 'Markus give us a wave'. and you could see that he was totally oblivious to what was happening, despite the people sat in front of him trying to let him know. A lesson in football fan culture is needed I think! Also anyone who comes up with a song that fits Nicola Cortese in desreves a free season ticket.
SO16_Saint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Too damn right. Was there in 92 and in Cardiff. We deserve to be there this yr. COYR
dune Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Mr Liebherr and his family are going to love the day out at Wembley. Thanks Marcus and Nicola for everything you have done for Southampton.
brmbrm Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 It might be a mickey mouse cup, but its MY mickey mouse cup! And its a great day out in wembley!
PaulSaint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 Its a better "London based outing" than a trip to the high courts?
saint_stevo Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 cup means very little, but happy to jump on the bandwagon
SparkySaint Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 It will be a sea of red and white. The most beautiful thing in the world
Saintandy666 Posted 9 February, 2010 Posted 9 February, 2010 where do they sit? Markus Liebherr sits right above the clock. You can make him out from the Kingsland, he has a very distinctive look.
NorthamSteve Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 It will be a sea of red and white. The most beautiful thing in the world ...
St Landrew Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Are we actually going to play in the red & white this time..? In my lifetime, in every cup competition final we've played in the second strip. The FA Cup of 1976 and 2003, the League Cup of 1979, and even the ZDS in 1992. It's about time we played in our first colours. I suspect there's a realistic chance, this time: Us Carlisle United

St Landrew Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Were there supposed to be pictures of the kit there? Not only were there, but they are there. Your quote has even carried them over to your post. Here are the links: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/images/southampton_2008-2009-d.gif and http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Carlisle_United/images/Carlisle_United_2009-2010.gif
Saint_clark Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Not only were there, but they are there. Your quote has even carried them over to your post. I honestly can't see them. My computer continues to make me look stupid. (I am posting this disclaimer before some smart arse comes back saying I do a good enough job on my own. Your joke is no longer funny now I have posted this. So ha).
Saint_clark Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Ah, this may be why I can't see them on here; You don't have permission to access /Southampton/images/southampton_2008-2009-d.gif on this server
St Landrew Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 How about that. Now I can't see them..! Ha. I'll see if I can do something about that.
Saint_clark Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 No reason why we shouldn't be in red and white then
Foxstone Posted 10 February, 2010 Posted 10 February, 2010 Mr Liebherr and his family are going to love the day out at Wembley. Thanks Marcus and Nicola for everything you have done for Southampton. Hear Hear !
